United StatesThe location is a bit south of Boppard along the Rhein but it is worth the short extra distance necessary to ride to it along the Rhein Bike Trail . Certainly not a Marriott or Ritz Carlton but better with great character with the reception area and the entire hotel showing extensive upgrading and good design sense . Rooms are spacious , very clean and very modern . Beds are really comfortable. Great interior lighting and multiple plugs for electronics . There is a secure garage with charging capability for Ebikes .
The best part of the hotel is the really helpful and extremely pleasant young owner/managers - David and Marietta . They are wonderfully friendly , helpful and two very nice young folks . This is a place worth adding to your itinerary along the Rhein Radweg .

Unique of course being a castle but the attention to detail and beautiful decorations throughout were amazing. Breakfast was fantastic and the view from the dining room even more special. Also for the price there were so many extra inclusions in your room that would normally not be included in the price. If that wasn't enough they have a fantastic museum and a book written about the history of the castle by the museum curator...Fabulous.

We arrived very late at the property to find that the access...
We arrived very late at the property to find that the access road had been dug up. We had only been informed about the roadworks by the host a few days before our stay, and the reality was considerably worse than we had expected from the information provided.
As soon as we entered the apartment, we realised that it was not as we had expected from the listing. There was a very noticeable stale smell of cigarette smoke and the overall standard of cleanliness was poor. It was very hot, but opening the windows was not a realistic option. The property is on the ground floor: one window overlooked the roadworks immediately outside, while the other looked directly onto an open bin-storage area, with the bins clearly visible. There were also numerous flies inside the apartment.
Because we arrived so late, we were unable to find alternative accommodation that night and reluctantly stayed until the morning. The bedding did not appear or smell freshly changed, and I ended up using my own scarves and towels over the bed and pillows so that I could sleep.
The bathroom was particularly unsuitable. It was extremely small – more like a cupboard – and the bathroom door could not even be opened fully because it hit the kitchen units. Anyone who is larger or tall would, in my opinion, find the space extremely difficult to use comfortably.
We left the property the following morning and contacted the host immediately to explain the problems. We did not receive a response for approximately 32 hours.
Our experience was completely different from what we had expected based on the listing, and we felt we had no reasonable option other than to leave after the first night. Given both the condition of the accommodation and the price charged, I could not recommend this property.

My 2nd visit, the last being in 1985.
My 2nd visit, the last being in 1985. Like a lot of places, establishment close. However an absolute good hourly rail connection. Excellent Rhine trips with several services picking passengers up. Good places to eat. Rheinkonig, right by the river served well cooked meals.

We liked everything!
We liked everything! Our stay felt like a warm and very nice bath from the beginning till the end! We had dinner at The Golden Schlüssel (Great!) because the hotels' restaurant was closed (unfortunately) due to circumstances. Next time we hope to enjoy the restaurant as well!!

If you want to experience the tranquility of the Rhine without sharing it with many other tourists, Kaub is the place for you!. Small village, with amenities such as a restaurant, cafe and bakery, but not catered to for the tourists that flock this area, a stay in Kaub offers you a perfect experience of Rhine-side living!

A typical German Rheinland village. Some excellent country inns service good food, excellent wine and good beer. Although quite busy early evening, the village quietens down quickly around 9.30pm Assmanshausen is a god centre for boat trips through the Rhein Gorge with some wonderful walking country through the woodlands and vineyards,

This was a great place to stay to explore the area.
This was a great place to stay to explore the area. The facilities in the apartment were great and the beds were really comfortable. We were glad we travelled by car as there wasn't a huge amount within walking distance. The host recommended many activities and places to eat in the surrounding area which was really useful.

Visiting the boardwalk by the rhine with a beautiful cafe and options to catch a boat ride to ohter beautiful villages.
Lahneck the towns castle is a most see, easy to be hikes to.
Lahnstein has beautiful old architekture and considered a nice place to visit with all its rich history. Vineyards are all over to admire and take a photo.

Amazing beautiful and quiet village in the river. Be aware most of people there only speak German (but they are nice people trying to communicate anyway even with the language barriers). I would like to come back and spend more days next time.

Nice village/city at the Rhine. Several antique buildings worth seeing. Bad coffee at the restaurant near the Rhine (not the KD boat stand, try that one please). Enough shops and supermarkets. Free parking on Saturdays. I ate at the appartment. I stayed there for visiting friends, for site-seeing you'll only need some hours,
