Hotel in Avilés
Located right in the heart of Avilés' old town, NH Collection Palacio de Avilés is a tastefully converted, 17th-century palace. Featuring free Wi-Fi, it is located in Plaza de España. Usually I do not spend time making comments about my hotel stays. This time due to the outstanding treatment I received, I think that it is necessary for others to know. First even though I made a booking through “booking.com” I was given complimentary superior room for the price of a normal room. Not only that, but the room was placed just in front of the city hall on plaza españa, on the old Palace building. Where the “Marquesa would spend her afternoons” Special attention was given to me by Conchi the reception manager at arrival making sure all will be OK We were greeted for breakfast by “Anabel” managing it, who did an excellent job on this “assisted buffet” which due to the “Covit regulations has converted it on a Challenge to be able to serve all people instead of people serving themselves. She moved like a bee, non stop with her staff making sure all was perfect. And still found time to talk to about us about this marvel of Castle renovated in hotel. Bravo Anabel. We surely will come back. You impressed me by your dedication on your job.

A peaceful place to relax, great hospitality from the people. I went there for a mission to find my grandmother's house and I did with the help of the owner and her sister. Beautiful Asturias!!!
We brought our bicycles and enjoyed riding to the river, the beach, the nearby towns and climbing the mountains surrounding the place. The roads are in excellent condition, the traffic never too busy and the drivers in the area very polite. All the places we visited were very clean and we always felt very safe. We ate our meals at the restaurants on both sides of the river Nalon. The area is one of the best places for cycling we have found in Europe also an excellent location for hiking and sailing, We decided to spent all our vacation time in the Asturias area and can't wait to get back to some of the nicest people we have met in our travels.
soto de cangas was very close to covadonga and the picos de Europa whrere I was going up the mountains in Asturias .....the place was very well located in that area
It is the capital of Asturias, quiet, very clean, very nice town, so much that I forget the great city that is Madrid ' I invite you to walk and walk past the Cathedral, the San Francisco park and reach the street Gascona (The boulevard de la Sidra) and taste a good "Cachopo" ( a big breaded veal steak ), while taking a few sips of this wonderful drink : the Sidra and to finish a rice with milk dessert, fruit of the gastronomic inventiveness of Asturias, land of my Grandfather. And from there you can visit Monte Naranco, Covadonga and park of the Picos de Europa.
Barro de Llanes (Celorio) is a little beach town, not touristy at all, although it is crowded in summer with beach goers and people visiting their vacation homes. There are two beautiful beaches. It was a good location for seeing Asturias and visiting the Picos de Europa. There are also many lovely beaches and hiking trails around Celorio and it is close to Llanes if you need something from a bigger town.
Grado is a charming market town in the mountains of Asturias, with a gentle microclimate that lets palm trees grow and water flow all year round. The people are accommodating and the downtown area is a nice human scale, with a lively bar scene and a Sunday market that fills the streets with all kinds of merchandise and color and freshness. My favorite part is the hiking trails that crisscross the area; Grado is a great starting point for several fine hikes into the mountains or along the river valley. One attraction is a small set of caves nearby, with Paleolithic paintings inside! You have to book in advance and wear sensible shoes, but this little "value-added" makes the town a standout for me. Restaurante Gran Feudo makes a stupendous burger, as well as a platter of grilled vegetables worth writing home about.
Great little town as a jumping point to Asturias. There is cultural spots and the architecture, old nd historic. You have to try the sidra.
The airport was a bit too far on a very busy motorway. Oviedo was elegant a bit like Buenos Aires. Lots of food from Asturias on offer in both restaurants and shops. Close to the dramatic Picos de Europa.
Last day of a brilliant holiday through Asturias, happy to have found a lovely location to spend the last night. Very disappointing though, the lighting in the bedroom (unable to read) and around the reception area with lots of burnt light bulbs. The food ordered in the restaurant was well below par especially the Cachopo too thin and soaked in oil as were the potatoes (oily chips) and as much as I like motorbikes, having one parked next to me in the dining room does not make it any better. We weren't charge for the main course but surprise surprise upon leaving we were given the wrong bill.....a more expensive one. We will not be coming back!!!
We chose Ribadesella because it’s proximity to the Museo Jurassico de Asturias, it’s beautiful beach and ease to get to. Everyone in town was friendly and the tapas at the bars were fantastic.
Fantastic. Not a typical hotel feel. More like a big beautiful home with total privacy when you want it and engage with fellow travelers and staff when you want. Easy drive/walk to a beautiful beach! Issues with my airline allowed for the owner to not only lend me his phone but actually help with the confusion as to my bag disappearance. He didn’t need to do so much and yet he did. The views are awesome and it’s a most excellent location to day trip to the many, many hidden gem beaches in Asturias. A+!
The hotel is extremely comfortable and relaxing, in a magnificent building in a marvellous location with views out over the hills of Asturias. There’s not much around it but quiet and farms. The breakfast is great but plan to either eat dinner before you go as it’s a drive back to town for food.
Super breakfast, really good attention to the customers. The hotel owner gave us great tips about things to visit around Pravia ( especially asturias coast) It was a really pleasure stayed at Hotel Rey Silio. Thanks guys
Clean and quiet room. Staff was lovely, attentive and helpful. The parking is a plus. Good location...and the cheapest gas station in Asturias just next door
Arenas de Cabrales
Excellent location to explore Asturias. Very clean and comfortable apartment.
The room was quiet even though it was next to other 3. The bed and pillows super comfortable, the airco working properly to keep the room fresh enough to sleep well.
Close to everything and clean. Breakfast was very good.
perfect location regarding what we intended to do. A simple but good breakfast
Location was great and the staff was super helpful and friendly
The design of course, the size of the rooms, the parking on site, the staff ( especially at the front desk) very helpful and professional.
Spectacular views, and relaxing ambiance
Great location for people who love nature, and old villages. Perfekt atmosphere and super nice staff. And the trip with rented ebicycles was great.
Property is stunning, location superb- great views, ideal for long walks. Breakfast and dinner very well prepared, staff happy to help with anything you need. Our children enjoyed making ceramics and feeding the animals. Fire in our room great perk!!
Beautiful townhouses in the charming village of Cue, within walking distance of Llanes. Great base for local walks and beaches (La Bellota particularly recommended) as well as day trips to the Picos (Cares gorge walk particularly recommended), Oviedo, various caves with prehistoric paintings, Santillana del Mar, etc. The townhouses are cleverly designed, comfortable and well equipped. The original artwork throughout the Villa is a nice touch. The lovely west facing terrace and garden is a great place to catch the afternoon and evening sunshine, even in late September. The owner, Pepe, is friendly and efficient. You can order breakfast from him the night before, which he collects from the local bakery and hangs on your door in the morning (the bretzels and ensaimadas are particularly recommended).
Very interesting concept and place. Clean and comfortable specially with small children.
Friendly hosts and excellent facilities.
