We didn't know anything about this hotel, but we decided to risk it despite the few reviews. And it was worth it! This is the best hotel! Everything is perfect here: from the rooms to the atmosphere at the reception, and it seems like the best breakfast at a hotel I've ever had. Great location, a super bright and beautiful building on the outside, and a magnificent view of the city from the rooftop.

Pet friendly (they gave us bowls and a blanket to keep) and super helpful and kind staff. Location is in the centre which makes everything easy to reach by foot. All facilities clean. The pool is small but warm and when we went, we were all alone. The hammam and sauna are great too and very enjoyable. The breakfast was exceptional - huge variety even for vegans. The champagne and treats on arrival are also a nice touch!

We loved the location, 15 mins by car from main train station, 2.5km walk down hill to the river. Loved the room space, 1 large bed and a sofa bed for 3rd young adult, loved the breakfast option which was brought to the room at the requested time and loved the outdoor space and even had a gym.

My husband and I loved 😍 our stay ar Vincci Bonjardim. The room was comfortable and extremely clean, the roof top bar and restaurant were very handy and food was good too. However I must emphasise that the staff in this hotel were a dream come true. From day one reception and concierge gave us a warm welcome and were always there to assist. The staff in the restaurant at roof top level were very accommodating, special reference to Maria,, the Italian young hostess who spoke many languages Then came the cherry on the cake a lavish breakfast with a great choice of items, something you must wake up for and not miss out on the fresh baked bread, pastries, cheeses, eggs, bacon etc etc etc. We were in very good hands with the amazing Camile at the helm of the morning routine, her warm smile and friendly attitude made our day ! Thank you to everyone who made our holiday a comfortable and relaxed stay. PS I nearly forgot to say that Besides all the bus routes surrounding our hotel, the city Metro is literally at the foot of the street where the hotel is situated. 🙏

FAQs about hotels in Norte Region

The Essence of Portugal

With fabulous beaches stretching from Caminha by the Spanish border to just south of Espinho, Portugal’s Norte region is known for beautiful scenery and historic cities.

Most Norte hotels on Booking.com are in its UNESCO World Heritage-listed capital Porto (or Oporto). Attractively spread over hills, it has wine cellars storing port from the Douro River Valley vineyards upstream.

Voted one of Portugal’s most liveable cities, Vila Real has the Mateus house overlooking a peaceful pond. Guimarães boasts a UNESCO World Heritage-listed historical centre and is known as the ‘birthplace of the Portugal’. Its stately castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança are well worth a visit.

Bragança itself is by Montesinho Natural Park in north-east Norte, and a keep remains from its former castle. Chaves also has a castle keep and a Roman stone bridge, but unlike Braga, it no longer has remains of its Roman baths, erected over hot springs. Braga’s crowning glory is the Bom Jesus do Monte sanctuary, set high in hills, with a wonderful staircase and garden overlooking the city.

South of Galicia is the beautiful Peneda-Gerês area, Portugal’s only national park, and to its west is Viana do Castelo with its Norte beach hotels set on Blue Flag beaches. Also noteworthy is impressive Basilica de Santa Luzia, surveying the riverfront town below.

The staff surprised us with cake and a bottle of wine on our arrival (it was my husband's bday). Beautiful hotel, spectacular views, great food, friendly staff, a chef's garden, vineyard and relaxing pools and spa. We enjoyed our time relaxing. Porto is a treasure.

Porto is a treasure. Its cultural history and scenic beauty make the city a unique, charming, and unforgettable destination. Its location also lends itself to tours to surrounding areas, like the Duoro Valley where one can take a variety of tours to port estates, a boat trip, and visit nearby towns. And the food! The Time Out Market and the mercado are a foodie's paradise, but equally, local cafeterias and markets make it easy to eat and drink well at a low cost.

Positives: The location & convenience - metro station walking distance away which was perfect. Parking always available just outside the property was also a bonus. Negatives: The fact that they didn't turn the central heating on was appalling, as it was freezing those days in January - the radiators were off - I had to sleep clothed on the first night, call the property manager on the following day asking for thicker blankets & nearly beg to switch on the central heating. I got the excuse that only 2 rooms were rented therefore they were not putting the heating on for the full house. Eventually they agreed to switch it on for a certain period of the day. Cleanness is also an issue - it isn't great - amongst other issues like, bath very slippery (shower mat needed to avoid accidents); bathroom sink doesn't drain properly; the picture with coffee & teas you can see on the property pictures isn't accurate (there is an expresso coffee machine available but you need to buy capsules if you want coffee).

Excellent restaurants! Braga is known for its restaurants. I had one of the best meals in my life at Green Harvest (though it is pricy, I thought it was worth the cost. Others who are not looking for something downright startling but wonderful might not agree but)--they made a beet dish that I absolutely adored. And I HATE beets. Braga is a smallish, easy to walk/navigate town with a lot of good restaurants, some very sites, and a cool and tranquil vibe. We were sitting at a cafe and a student group from the university showed up and did a music/dance performance. I am told there are more festivals in Braga than anywhere else in Portugal, but we were there in January so there weren't any during that time.

This small city was an absolute gem - stunning ancient squares and streets filled with lovely cafes and restaurants, altogether not as touristy as it could have been and very easy to walk around. We dined in two of the main squares with traditional Portuguese cuisine and inexpensive wines, and lovely ice cream outlets. We took the cablecar up the hillside and walked back down. We visited the Ducal palace (fantastic reconstruction) and castle (ruin). We could easily have spent a week here relaxing and taking in the atmosphere. And very easy to reach from Oporto.

Bustling city with plenty of cafes and eateries, slightly off the usual tourist trail. The Castelo de Braganca was well worth a visit. We thought the prices in the city were very reasonable. Watch out if you are using an old satnav - we were directed up a very steep, narrow street which turned out to be a dead end. The reversing down the cobbles and a 37-point turn were a challenge!

This place gets a well-deserved 5 stars—no doubt about it!

This place gets a well-deserved 5 stars—no doubt about it! From the moment we walked in, it felt warm, cozy, and totally like home. It’s huge, sparkling clean, and honestly… it looks even better than in the photos (and that’s saying something!). Usually with apartments that look this good, you think: “Yeah right, too good to be true.” But nope—this one actually turned out to be better than too good! It’s got everything. And I mean everything: coffee machine, iron, washing machine, dishwasher… you name it, it’s there—and all in tip-top shape. We were just the two of us, but there’s more than enough space for 4 or even 6 people to hang out comfortably. And the view… wow. Just wow. Need a room with a view? Look no further—this is the one!
