Nicolas was very helpful since the pre-arrival till we checked out! He helped us with a lot of suggestions about what to do in the region. Everything went well. The lady who served us breakfast every day was also amazing and very friendly. Your room us cleans and made up by the time you are having breakfast. I spent five days in the city, assuming I would need day trips to see wine towns such as Saint-Emilion and Pauillac. I think the city itself could be done in a day plus however much time needed for side trips. That said, you can always add more days to have time to eat and drink more. I have never been a fan of French cuisine but this trip showed me how I have been underrating it for years. I enjoy mixing it up -- eating at nicer places and eating at markets -- and in both places, I ate very well. I highly recommend heading over the Marché des Capucins and eating at one of the many stalls there. Of course you can´t reference Bordeaux without speaking about wine. While of course you can buy wine anywhere, there is something to be said about consuming it in the area where it is made. For one thing, there is a wide variety of wine on offer in all price ranges. And of course, most people in the service industry are knowledgeable about wine. Be prepared to walk, as that is of course the best way to get to know an older European city. Bring comfortable walking shoes because as I always say, cobblestones are beautiful but torture.Guest review byana reginaPhilippines - 10.0
Toulouse has a very happy vibe.
Toulouse has a very happy vibe. Not only is it a proper working city where real people actually live, everyone we spoke to says that they are really happy living here compared with other cities in France. There's probably not a ton of stuff to do for days and days but as a place to explore and get to know for a while and as a gateway to the Aveyron, it is absolutely ideal.Guest review byClaudiaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Mostly disappointed with pollution!
Mostly disappointed with pollution! Smoking is allowed everywhere. Worst ever on all my trips! Beaches are pretty dirty! And the seawater is very dirty. I did not expect this! Very disappointing this time. I'll never go back. There are many prettier places for a real vacation and rest!Guest review byTatjanaCanada - 10.0

It is a marvellous city- stunningly beautiful with a chill, friendly and confident vibe. People are very kind to people with little spoken French and most speak quite good English. The food is great and prices reasonable. Being able to either walk everywhere or use the frequent, comprehensive trams makes exploration a pleasure. Overall, a truly special place.Guest review bySarahTurkey - 10.0

We had a car so we took day trips to surrounding towns in Provence before leaving Avignon to head up to Lyon, then Amboise, then Paris. I wish we had devoted more time to exploring Avignon itself without driving somewhere else every day. Next time I'd plan more time to just hang out in Avignon, and go to the museums, shop, visit close by locations (walking or biking), etc.Guest review byJeanneUnited States - 10.0

If you enjoy spending time in a tourist trap, go to the castle. Much better to go to La Bastide for a more authentic experience. For castles and medieval history there are many better options elsewhere.Guest review byScottUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A large historic city centre with hundreds of small individual shops and restaurants. The squares are a wonderful place to eat at night and you should not miss the food markets on a Saturday. Very helpful and pleasant staff in the shops and restaurants and a very beautiful city. Access is easy by train from Marsallie or other towns in the south France; you don't need a car. Best to eat away from the main street as it's netter value and the food in thr local bakeries is amazing. I'd especially recommend Boulangerie Hats Aix Espiariat for breakfast and lunchGuest review byJeffUnited Kingdom
