FAQs about hotels in Cornwall
The Stuff of Legends
Inhabited since prehistory, Cornwall is characterised by a series by rocky bays, fishing villages and spectacular coastline. Right at England’s western tip is Land’s End where sheer cliffs descend into the Atlantic Ocean. Along the coast is popular St Ives, home to many Cornwall hotels by the sea on Booking.com.
Another fantastic beach resort is Penzance, while across the bay is St Michael’s Mount (not to be confused with similar Mont St-Michel in Normandy). Also boasting a wonderful beach is Newquay, though it is best known for its excellent surfing conditions.
Further north is Tintagel, the stuff of legends due to its association with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The remains of Tintagel Castle are perched dramatically on a rocky promontory, while inland on Bodmin Moor granite tors and stone monoliths only add to Cornwall’s feeling of mystery.
Heading north towards Bude the Cornwall beaches become longer, while on the southern coast Looe is a picturesque town curving around an inlet. To the east near St Austell is the Eden Project, huge domes housing thousands of plants from all over the world.
The county town of Cornwall is Truro, home to an impressive cathedral overlooking the River Fal which flows down to Falmouth Bay, a great spot to try some local Cornish ice cream.

Amazing Town, lots of good places to eat, not much to do with the kids. everyone recommends the aquarium but that looks utterly boring. we ended up walking the beaches which are great at tide out and kids had lots of fun in the water and on the sand. we did not manage to explore the town fully as had trips planned around, like Tintagel and St Michael's Mount. Newquay is a nice town to stay in to reach these sites in the area. a base to which you can come back and rest.Guest review byArkadiuszUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It's a lovely, quiet town.
It's a lovely, quiet town. There's plenty to see and more than one beach to spend time at. It's a very clean city, which surprised me. I walked around with my wife after 11 p.m. and felt safe, even though I didn't encounter a single police officer. It's worth the trip; it's a beautiful, clean city, and the people are courteous and friendly.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Falmouth is quiet, beautiful and clean.
Falmouth is quiet, beautiful and clean. I recommend driving there through the night though. Our journey from South Yorkshire via Leicester should have been 6 hours. Due to traffic , it was 11-12 hours in the car. Also , don’t try to eat out at a restaurant after 9pm. EVERYWHERE stops serving food really early.Guest review byDickinsonUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The high street was in disarray with all the building work.
The high street was in disarray with all the building work. Walking, roads were difficult to navigate with few pedestrian crossings and very narrow pavements. Good artisan shops and The Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn served the most superb lunch.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 4.0

St Austell is a run down and neglected town hard to navigate and not much to see. Charlestown is a delightful harbor with a good choice of restaurants and bars a bit of a shame that the harbor is being worked on but it has to be done. Then further south you have Pentewan a beautiful beach within a holiday complex lots of activities for the little ones and a good beach cafe.Guest review byDebbieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bude is lovely spot in the North Coast or Cornwall close to the North Devon Border. It has an interesting history, including the Castle, Canal & unique sea locks, breakwater and sea swimming pools - as well as beautiful beaches and coves nearby. I grew up and went to school there, so I know.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 4.0

We visited Looe to join family membes for 3 days, the Hotel was good, though without transport it may have been difficult. There were good views of the coast from the Hotel, it was on quite a steep hill to walk up from Looe, but manageable using a walking stick. We were late in joining family members at a Restaurant in the town, our places at the table were available, but there was no meals served after 8 o clock, so we left without eating. We found a Pizza place, which was quite satisfacory but that was closed by 9 p.m. These times seem rather early for high season holidays. We preferred the quieter hilly sides of the town, the town centre was rather crowded, and the local bus service did not seem particularly adequate for a busy holiday spot and for visitors to get to neighbouring beaches withou the use of a car. We had 2 and ahalf days our of 3 of lovely sunshineGuest review byEdwinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely little village that becomes quite lively at around 9.30 am. Nice selection of restaurants, pubs and gift shops. Also parking was ample and very reasonably priced. We found the people in the village were very friendly and also very helpful, we eat at a few different cafes and also tried the fish and chip shop in the village and the standard of food was excellent. We couldn’t leave without stocking up on Scones and Cornish Pasties for our lunch when we arrived home.Guest review byDebbieUnited Kingdom - 10.0
