Overall, everything was perfect. The room was large enough, the supplies were sufficient, and the service staff were very kind and tried their best to meet all our needs during our stay. I have to mention Charlie, he is seriously the funniest person I have ever met in the UK. The hot tub should be the biggest feature of this hotel. My wife and I enjoyed it for three whole days and were very satisfied. The price/performance ratio is very good. The hotel is located in the middle of the two towns of Bowness and Windermere, and it is very convenient to walk to both towns. In any case, I will definitely recommend this hotel next time I come to the Lake District, or if my friends want to travel to the Lake District.

The hotel manager Morgan really demonstrated exemplary hospitality. He personally drove us out of a storm to the hotel when the trains shut down and the taxis in the vicinity were not in service. He also upgraded our room when the storm affected WiFi in some parts of our hotel and saw to it that we were comfortable and cosy. 10/10 hospitality, and by far the absolute best travel experiences with a Hotel we've had and could've asked for (and it isn't even close!). Choose Beech Hill Hotel and Spa if you're in the vicinity. You'll be well taken care of : )

We stayed in the Seductive Suite, it was a beautiful room with the decor, lots of space, beautiful bathroom, we loved the mood lighting and the bed was so comfy. We loved the special touches like the vanity area and the under floor heating and the tv on the wall in the bathroom. It was the best hotel that we have ever stayed in and it was my boyfriend’s birthday as well. We will definitely be coming back.

It's a small town with lots of restaurants.

It's a small town with lots of restaurants. It was already quite busy in mid-May; our tour guide says that you can hardly move in the summer months. The boats and the schedules were great. There are many tours to take and there are lots of things to do, especially for outdoorsy activities. The bus runs frequently between the main towns of Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside. It seems that there is a big emphasis on the hiking and boating in this area. The Beatrix Potter influence is great and should be more emphasized.

I love Windermere.

I love Windermere. I was born in UK and return regularly to visit friends. I honeymooned in Windermere so it has very happy memories for me. Over the years I have seen some changes on the whole an improvement. I do hope it doesn’t get too busy otherwise it could be spoilt.I really enjoyed my steamer and train trip this time. When back in Australia I will have some good memories of this visit. Even the weather was kind!!

We liked the location of Newby Bridge as it is great for visiting the south Lakes but also a good place to reach further a field like Buttermere and Keswick. We tended to eat in Windermere and Bowness as they were not far away and had plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Good walks to Wray Castle and Claife Viewing Station overlooking Windermere. Unfortunately Wray Castle was shut for renovation during our visit (Nov 2025)m but the cafe here was open for business and doing a roaring trade. Location is handy for Hill Top (Beatrix Potter) and Hawkshead where there are ample places to eat.

The location is a great place for walkers to enjoy without having to get in their cars and drive elsewhere. The walks from the town are many and of various choices between easy and difficult. A hard walk up to the High Street with its fantastic views of all the lake district fells or a gentle stroll up the Troutbeck valley to the Tongue are both enjoyable and relaxing in their own ways to name but two of the many.

Pretty hamlet with 2 excellent pubs serving great food. Easy walking area from the hamlet and access to more challenging walking not far away. Away from the tourist traps of the Lake District. Would recommend eating at The Hare and Hounds for upmarket gastro pub food. The Masons Arms also serves good pub food. The Punchbowl at Crosthwaite is a 10 min drive away and is a very good restaurant
