GuernseyThe breakfast and choice was absolutely amazing. The best we have had at a hotel. It was all fresh and constantly topped up. We had not planned to eat evening meals in the hotel, but the food was so good we ate there every night. The room too was fantastic, with plenty of space. Marc the concierge was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended some great walks suitable for us and the buses to get to them. The receptionists were also very welcoming showing us around the hotel and our room on arrival. The location of the hotel is good too, just a few minutes walk from the center and therefore not too noisy. A few days after we left I realised that I had left an expensive item of clothing behind. The hotel kindly arranged to post this home for me. We usually holiday in the Med but with the high temperatures we now get there during summer, decided to try the UK this year. We had such an enjoyable time will definitely be back next summer.

GermanyOverall, everything was perfect. The room was large enough, the supplies were sufficient, and the service staff were very kind and tried their best to meet all our needs during our stay. I have to mention Charlie, he is seriously the funniest person I have ever met in the UK. The hot tub should be the biggest feature of this hotel. My wife and I enjoyed it for three whole days and were very satisfied. The price/performance ratio is very good. The hotel is located in the middle of the two towns of Bowness and Windermere, and it is very convenient to walk to both towns. In any case, I will definitely recommend this hotel next time I come to the Lake District, or if my friends want to travel to the Lake District.

We liked the view of the lake from our room🫡 😍The food and the spa was awesome. Service from staff was on point particularly Ewan who served first when we had our first spa session Friday and latter during breakfast and dinner on Saturday
We really look forward to coming back with the whole family to experience the Ewan service par excellence 🙌 👏 👌🫡.

The view of the inn is superb, the bus stops to the other villages is just across the road from the inn.The staff who checked us in was so helpful & kind ,I didn't get his name but he sweetly offered & carried our heavy bag up to the room. The breakfast was hot & good.Wish they increase the variety in the lunch & dinner menu.

The view is incredible! We were in the dog friendly room and the view of the hill was spectacular. It's surrounded by sheep and you can easily walk down to the lake. We enjoyed wine with our feet in the water and then a drink at their bar in the lounge. Free easy parking, comfy bed and a good shower!

The location of the hotel is amazing, where it is in the heart of Windermere lake. The hotel surrounded by many restaurants, cafes and shops. All the lake activities are close to the hotel. The rooms are good sized, the breakfast is very nice and good selection of cold and hot food and drinks.

The spa and pool area was very relaxing and enjoyable. Service at the breakfast was exceptional and very delcious food. The location was beautiful and no complaints from us. Lounge areas were beautiful overlooking the lake.

There is plenty of restaurants and bars.the lake an surrounding area is very picturesque.
We went in february so a little quiet but would imagine it would be very busy in spring/summer.
Only caution would be to use public transport if not great on legs.

Very easy to get with public transport. Great railway station. Lots of accessible walking and hotels in the area. Stunning views across the lake just five minutes from train station. Booths is fabulous too!

Plenty to see and do in the town.
Plenty to see and do in the town. A good choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Good bus service if you want to explore further afield without having to drive. Everyone we met was so friendly. A lovely place to visit or stay a while longer. Easy walk to Grasmere and we got the bus back. We ate at the Flying Fleece and the Ambleside hotel, lovely food and quick service.

The area is ideal for visiting the southern Lakes, the Cumbria peninsular, easy access from the M6. Spectacular views of mountains, great opportunity for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, canoeing, running. Most attractions have restricted opening hours out of main season, so research well and you wont be disappointed. Even when there was inclement weather, there"s enough in nearby towns to occupy you. Shops, Theatres, cinema etc

The lake district is stunningly beautiful and the people are so kind and friendly so much to see and do for old and young couples or family's we loved the clean air and outdoors but there is so much to explore if its rainy too would highly recommend the farm shops for eating and shopping wonderful grassmere gingerbread shop and the tiny church definitely drive the honister pass so exciting and stunning a boat trip on windermere is a must the beautiful towns and villages with their stunning shops and twinkly lights are so cute and quirky will definitely recommend and return

Good walks to Wray Castle and Claife Viewing Station...
Good walks to Wray Castle and Claife Viewing Station overlooking Windermere. Unfortunately Wray Castle was shut for renovation during our visit (Nov 2025)m but the cafe here was open for business and doing a roaring trade.
Location is handy for Hill Top (Beatrix Potter) and Hawkshead where there are ample places to eat.

Excellent location for the frequent Lakeland buses which meant we could bus to one place, walk over the hills or catch a boat, and catch a different bus back. No parking worries.

Sawrey is two gorgeous little villages with walks and two fine inns serving food and drink. We were there out of season, so didn't have to deal with the swarms of crowds around Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's house.
