My evaluation is strongly influenced by the period when we visited the island – August. Therefore, I do not recommend visiting the island in August, as it is extremely overcrowded. Also, the steep streets and narrow access alleys become even more difficult to navigate during this time of year, and you will need to fully rely on your driving skills, often pushing your car to its limits. We missed some of the island’s attractions because of these inconveniences. That being said, the island has many beautiful places to see and experience – beaches, breathtaking views, tavernas, welcoming people, and much more. I recommend visiting the island in September, ideally for 5–10 days, and exploring the most popular places early in the morning. This way, you will get the best of what the island has to offer.Guest review bySebastianRomania - 8.0

Kavos was great fun with lots of bars and a nice compact strip. Lots of excursion options (I recommend the day trip to Corfu old town) and a beach just next to the strip. Only thing that let it down was it was not very busy at all end of august so a lot of the bars were quite empty and prompted reps to almost harass you into the bars. Lots of great places to eat but absolutely ginormous portions which I found a bit overwhelming at times. Drinks aren’t the nicest but with how cheap they are you can hardly complain.Guest review byPoppyNetherlands - 10.0

It is a very touristy area, not my ideal, but many beaches within a close distance, swimming, beach bars, restaurants, opportunities to rent boats or a tour (Recommended! I booked with Paleotours.) I always found a spot at the beaches, especially early in the day or evening. Everything you need is there and it is stunning.Guest review byTanyaUnited States - 8.0

nice sandy beach with sunbeds and empty space for simple sheets. small waves and warm water. warmer then Paleokastrita, and with bigger waves than Benitses (this one is nicer for snorkeling, but no sand just pebbles) nice taverns and shops.Guest review byMrRomania - 10.0
We have been coming to sidari for 7 years.
We have been coming to sidari for 7 years. There's something for everyone, whether you want quiet restaurants, traditional greek cuisine/tavernas or modern amercian, mexican, indian, chinese dishes. There is entertainment on the main strip every night from quizes, bingo, karoke to tribute acts, live bands, football and rugby matches televised. All family friendly. There's also plenty to do, the beach is lovely, there are pedaloes, quad bikes, paragliding, snorkelling, boat trips etc. The biggest thing that draws us back are the people. They are so friendly and welcoming andGuest review byJonesUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Well i had not been to Benitses for over 42 years ,and it was a bit of a shock ! The town looks run down and the beaches are not very good ,too much traffic drives by to get any peace on the beach . The roads are dangerous and busy ,lack of pavements .The old town is better with nice places to eat and drink ,night time is best The restaurant called the Olive was lovely ,the ambiance was relaxing and the food was delicious. There is a good bus service if you want to get about, you can buy bus tickets from some shops .it make it a lot easier. The town just needs a good over hall and money investments ,but that's a government thing !Guest review bykathleenUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A little to remote located on the north side of the island.
A little to remote located on the north side of the island. The village had a very quiet feel to it which is fine if you like it that way. The beach is excellent but can be exposed to winds and rolling waves.Guest review byStephen BakerAlbania - 4.0
Ypsos is not very nice in itself.
Ypsos is not very nice in itself. The beach is super small and directly next to a busy road with fast driving cars. Crossing it can be dangerous. I wouldn't recommend it, given the large amount of other beautiful beaches the island has.Guest review byCarloSpain - 8.0

I liked that the bus stop was just a 5 mins walk and it made it easy to travel to other areas. Gouvia however has a nice mix of shops, taverna's and bars. Just enough for my 6 night stay. I definitely recommend Aries restaurant and Kaktus beach bar.Guest review byVeronicaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A beautiful area with plenty of restaurants and cafés.
A beautiful area with plenty of restaurants and cafés. Dassia Beach is excellent, with clear waters, though less photogenic than the beaches often shown in promotional photos. There are many great beaches within a 25–45 minute drive. Note that most of the famous beaches require a car, and during the season it’s best to arrive early due to limited parking. The town is about 25 minutes from DASSIA (recommended to park near the port, where there are several large parking lots) – from there it’s just a short walk to the Old Town.Guest review byshukiRomania
