- From $23.60 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 809 reviewsGreat place to spend few days in the middle of nature. Wifi worked well in the restaurant area, where you can also chill and enjoy cold drinks and the delicious food they serve. They have good food options (also for vegans). The staff is really friendly. Overall it was a very unique experience. It was easy to get there - if you arrive by bus from Flores like I did, you get off at the bus terminal and walk a bit back, then you turn right (towards the water) between El commercial Almendro and small bakery (the Sun dog cafe is right at the end of the road, you ask them to call Casa Perico at the bar).Guest review byBarboraCzech Republic
- From $26.11 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 894 reviewsAmazing spot on the Rio Dulce river. The staff was very kind, and they would help you with any question. They cook home made food which is delicious. You can rent kayaks and SUP for a very convenient price. We loved it there! Although we happened to be there in a very hot and humid day, we did enjoy the stay 100%. There are a lot of travelers and you can meet new people, the environment is friendly and chill.Guest review byElenaItaly

They have lots of tips for travel from Livingston to other parts of Guatemala, as well as Honduras & Belize. They also offer trips to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares. It’s a good day trip & I definitely recommend it if you’re visiting the area.Guest review byFoggCanada

They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.Guest review bySallyUnited States

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing.
Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing. If you want more night life...then probably best to stay in Livingston. If you are ever in Livingston, the best Tapado was at a small restaurant Restaurante Gabby!! Unforgettable!! El Viajero didn't come close in flavor, maybe we just went on a bad day. Must see Siete Altares, beautiful waterfalls and blue turquoise water. We never felt unsafe, it's a very tranquil place in Rio Dulce.Guest review byNoemiUnited States - 10.0
Loved Livibgston.
Loved Livibgston. It has a very chilled and relaxed vibe that's very different to the rest of Guatemala. The locals are so warm and welcoming. We ate at local restaurants and sometimes local drummers came in and played which was great.very easy to get around. If you don't want to walk there's always a tuk tuk near by for only 50Q a person. The area is great for walking along the coast, kayaking, and enjoying different cultures.Guest review bysgibbyUnited Kingdom - 4.0

If you travel solo you can't do anything as it's just for groups else yours are in excess of £250! It's not safe to hike to seven altars alone (I was told by locals) so it's just very far for no reason. The bus from GC was supposed to be 5 hours but it was 11!Guest review byAndreaUnited Kingdom - 6.0
It should be a tourist hot spot in Guatemala.
It should be a tourist hot spot in Guatemala. Unfortunately the beaches are covered in trash. I wouldn’t recommend a visit to Livingston unless you’re passing through. If you happen to have some time in Livingston I recommend a trip to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares. The lancha to Playa Blanca only gives you an hour in Siete Altares so we went back the next day. Just take a tuktuk to the bridge and walk. It’s a great place to swim in cool fresh water in the jungle.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0

Unfortunately, I was there during the rainy season - day and night - rain. I would have stayed longer, but everything I had was damp or wet. Hostel is easily walkable from the lancha dock. Or you can take a tuc tuc for 10QGuest review byrosemaryCyprus
