This apartment was in the perfect location, had all the amenities you would need and the rooftop jacuzzi was such an added bonus’s. Beds were very comfortable and the place was super clean.

First weekend in October and almost everything was closed, nothing really to do there. Luckily it was nice just being in the hotel spa and going out for a walk or a bike ride, but thats it. Probably wonderful in the summertime. :)

Kali is a pleasant village on the island of Ugljan, where you will definitely not be bored. Immediately after our arrival, we attended a three-day fishing festival and a procession the next day, tried out a renowned fish restaurant, and got to know the locals. If you want to go somewhere where there is something going on, Kali is the right place. At least in August, when we visited Kali.

The island of Uglijan is an absolutely amazing island that is not yet heavily affected by tourism, so you are more likely to meet Croatian locals here. Easy transport to the island by ferry at a great price. The island also features attractions such as the Sveti Mihovil fortress and the 6th-century ruins of Pustograd. Crystal clear sea, lots of greenery, and friendly locals.

Very peaceful little town on the shore which is connected to Preko where the ferry docks.
A few restaurants and bars and great for a chilled peaceful holiday with easy access to the calm sea for swimming and snorkelling.
Good for a car free holiday with lots of local amenities and a reliable regular bus service to get around the island.
About 30 minutes walk along the shore from the ferry terminal.
Easy to go over to Zadar but with the more relaxed feel of an island.

Beach Jaz is good for kids and poor swimmers.
Beach Jaz is good for kids and poor swimmers. The little island is a delight. We stayed only a short while and I got hit by a cold so we didn't really get around much. All needed infrastructure is near and there are enough connections to Zadar is someone wants more.

Kali is a small and quiet town on the island of Ugljan, right by the sea. It has several small shops and one larger one, as well as restaurants and cafés.
If you are looking for a peaceful place, Kali is just right for you. If you prefer more hustle and bustle, the larger town of Preko is within walking distance.

The island is not as crowded as the tourist cities on the mainland.
The ferry port, Preko, has nice restaurants and shops. There is bus service although it seems more sparse since there are a lot of cars on the island. We used it several times to get to Preko. Uber is unreliable. Cabs are available but it can become expensive if you have to use them a lot. A lot of people use bikes to get around. The island is not as hectic as the mainland so it was enjoyable.

If you travel with children age below 10 and without own car...
If you travel with children age below 10 and without own car be aware that Poljana does not have much public transportation nor taxis. Distance to ferryport is around 2km so be prepared to carry small kids and dont wear sandals but good shoes when you come back late in evening from mainland watching magic sunset.

Preko is a very beautiful and magical place with its own, rather calm atmosphere. Suitable for relaxing by the sea, walking, sitting in cafes and restaurants.
But it is also worth more active walks, exploring the island, the view from the castle of St. Michael on the surrounding islands, etc.
The color of the water is incredible and clear.

Kali is laid back and peaceful. The beaches are clean. If you have mobility issues be careful as there are some steep hills, but we were glad of the exercise to justify another ice cream. I think hiring bicycles would be ideal as the roads are very quiet and views spectacular..
The ferries are frequent and excellent value from As far old town and ferry port to the south.. Don't be put off from going by the ferry. It was easy to get a ticket and a very enjoyable crossing.
