- From $359.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,793 reviewsThis was the best hotel we stayed in Iceland. The free amenities (Sauna, Hot tub, pool billiard, bathrobe, flip flops, etc.) and the free breakfast were just great. The room was modern and spacious. The northern lights wake up call is a wonderful free service (we didn't have any luck though). The location is incredible across from a volcano walking trail. Seriously, we were so excited when we saw what the hotel offers for such little money (in March). Will definitely stay here again when I return. Thank you!Guest review byOezlemGermany

I was travelling for business, but was very pleasantly surprised by Akureyri - a very nice town with good facilities, great resturants and bars, and everything within walking distance. There seemed to be a lot of things to do for tourists, but I was working so couldn't take advantage of them this time. Very picturesque location at the bottom of a Fjord, much nicer location than Rekjavik. It's a bit of a pain to get to from Rekjavik area (flight by small plane, or 5 hr drive) but well worth it once you're there.Guest review byDouglas - 10.0
We visited all the famous sites
We visited all the famous sites The Thermal baths was great. A big area (and currently expanding). The restaurant there was very reasonably priced for Iceland. They made a great coffee. Food was good. Went to the geothermal site which was pretty amazing. We hiked up Hverfjall, theextinct volcano which was interesting. Went to Dentifoss and Selfoss which were very impressive We enjoyed our stay. Well worth a visitGuest review byLawsonAustralia - 8.0

Good place to stay away from main road and city for calm and cozy atmosphere. This place is surrounded by lush green tress and guest house is a perfect place to stay. Tipin the dog at Guest house is perfect to play with kids and a dog is playing with kids, he is the attraction of all the stay at this place.Guest review byDr. Rajeev KumarUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

Whale watching was awesome! An absolute must do when visiting Husavik. Lovely property very cosy and warm. The surrounding areas are beautiful. The hot tub was perfect after a day of exploring. We made use of the cooking facilities for the week this was really handy. Perfect location for exploring the north.Guest review byJoshuaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
There wasn't a single thing wrong.
There wasn't a single thing wrong. From the place, to the location, the host, avaliable conveniences while being isolated to relax. The pool outside brings everything to an 11. Enjoying the warmth with the cold outside while gazing at the stars, just what the doctor ordered.Guest review byGenNetherlands - 8.0
My stay at the guesthouse was a bit of a mixed bag.
My stay at the guesthouse was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the self-check-in process was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness and the spaciousness of my room. The facilities, including the WiFi and kitchen, were top-notch, and I had no complaints on that front. However, there were a few quirks that left me feeling a bit unsure. The surrounding farm was somewhat peculiar, but I must admit that I'm not exactly an expert on farming, and I didn't book this place for its agricultural charm. The absence of any human interaction with the host was a tad disconcerting. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, and a friendly welcome or some local insights would have been appreciated. One noteworthy detail was the water quality, which had a distinct sulfur smell. While this might be normal for the area, it would have been helpful if the host had mentioned it beforehand. In summary, the guesthouse had fantastic facilities, but the lack of host interaction and the peculiar farm surroundings left me with mixed feelings. Plus, a heads-up about the unique water scent would have been a considerate touch. However, all in all, good to very good value for the money.Guest review byThomas - 10.0

We didn't have much time to spend here, however, just spending a couple of days at the hotel and walking around the area would be wonderful. It's a beautiful hotel and area to sit around and relax or soak in the hot tub admiring the amazing views. The museum and some restaurants were closed when I went in March. There is definitely more to do in the summer months.Guest review byMarieUnited States - 10.0

In our opinion as a family with found Akureyri to be a more enjoyable city and atmosphere than Reykjavík. Has a very positive vibe and the whale watching was an experience of a lifetime. I would recommend at least two days probably three if you are doing a tour of Iceland. Potentially I would recommend flying here and driving clockwise on route one to Reykjavík.Guest review byXenstone
