Staying at this rental in historical Madaba was an absolute delight! Nestled within the ancient Roman walls, the location is rich with history and charm—perfect for anyone wanting to soak in the cultural essence of Jordan. The host was truly exceptional: ultra-friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. It's clear they care deeply about their guests’ experience, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The area is very safe and peaceful, ideal for relaxed exploration, whether you're strolling to nearby landmarks or just enjoying the local atmosphere. As a bonus, there are a few friendly neighborhood cats that added a touch of warmth and personality to our stay—definitely a highlight for animal lovers! Highly recommended for travelers looking for comfort, culture, and heartfelt hospitality. Would absolutely stay here again!

Visited from Texas. Must be something about the land being elevated, both physically and spiritually-- slept very well. Spacious room, affordable, in city center and a few minutes drive from Mount Nebo. Hotel staff were exceedingly friendly and ask for Towfeeq if you need a local driver and guide. He's a true son of the soil and I had a blast with him showing me all over the dead sea, Amman, and even a hot springs visited by locals and previously Herod the great.

- The hotel is clean, tidy and has a lot of amenities. I think it’s recently been renovated too! - Great location and proximity to everything we wanted to do. - Pool table by the pool, a pub and a shisha bar made it easy to make spend time at the hotel and meet cool people.

Madaba is world famous for its ancient mosaics and its modern day mosaic school and workshops. If you want to see a mosaic, go to Madaba. Furthermore there are some very good and well priced restaurants.

The Mujib is for people who want to wind down and go slow.

The Mujib is for people who want to wind down and go slow. The place needs some attention and could use a coat of paint and some general maintenance. The staff are very nice, but why are there no women working there? Overall we would recommend Mujib Chalets. The site is so beautiful and the Dead Sea so weird that there is no place like it.

The tourist part with St John the Baptist church, visitor centre, museum and burnt palace etc is easy to explore and plenty of eateries too. Shop keepers are helpful and don't hassle you much. Easy to take a taxi to Mount Nebo, and I also enjoyed Bethany beyond the Jordan (where John the Baptist did his work), which takes a bit longer as you get bussed from the visitor reception to the river. It was amazing to look across the river to Israel where someone was being baptised. The Dead Sea and Hot Springs are also within reach, but not sure how it works with all the 4star hotels along the edge. Yellow taxis plentiful. If it's cold in Madaba (I was there in early March and they had a cold spell) the good news is its warm at the Dead Sea and the hot springs are wonderfully warm.

We almost skipped Madaba as we wanted to spend more time in Petra and Wadi Rum but were so glad we went and could have spent more time. Besides the incredible mosaics, there are Roman ruins and underground spaces that were fun to explore plus this had some of the best shopping we saw and we regretted not having more time to browse. With its Byzantine history Madaba feels different than the other cities in Jordan and is well worth the visit.
