This was one of the most unique experiences we have ever had. The property is absolutely stunning. It's built around the existing rock formation so as to not damage the natural beauty around it. Our room was well appointed and incredibly comfortable. All our meals were included in our stay and were delicious. The staff were amazing! So attentive and able to customize our excursions so we could make the most out of our time there. The property was amazing but it was truly the staff who made our experience memorable.

The small, simple room was very clean (and so were the shared toilets/showers). The hotel has made an effort to make the place homey with a bit of decor inside the room and plants/decor throughout the property.. The wind and cold were fierce during our stay, so we were very grateful to have a good heater in our room (and they provide enough blankets). While the WIFI is only available in the reception/bar/restaurant area, it works well. Good to have a reasonably priced restaurant on site, as there are few eating options in Grunau (you can order your meals ahead to be ready at a certain time). We stayed for two nights while visiting Fish River Canyon as it is much more affordable than the places in/nearer the park (unless you are camping).

Good place to stay before or after crossing the border. Chalets are clean and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Wifi worked very well that night but not so much the next morning. Staff at the shop were extremely nice when we checked in. They even made a call for us in Namibia to confirm a reservation. We recommend.
