SingaporeThe staff were very friendly and helpful. One incident was that I dirty my shoes at a muddy beach and the staff kindly let me use a large cleaning sink to clean my shoes. Thank you and much appreciated. The location was very good with beautiful scenery - high and low tides right before your eyes. The room was vintage style, cosy and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Our family of 7 had dinner in the hotel restaurant - excellent! Highly recommend this hotel to visitors coming to the Nelson area.

United StatesSpacious 2 bedroom lodge like house on the side of a hill in North Nelson. Super quiet with a gorgeous night sky. We stayed in the largest unit that had a full kitchen and laundry plus a large living room. A comfortable stop for the 4 of us after the bustle of Wellington. Stayed after taking the ferry to Picton and then driving through wine country. Mark is a great host!

United StatesAmazing property, designed with so much attention to detail. The property is beautifully appointed. I don’t often spend free time (when I’m not working) at rental properties, but truly enjoyed relaxing in the spaces at the Oaktree House. They are stunning, comfortable and well thought out. The large windows and doors opened up to make you feel like you were outside.
The hosts provide so much more than other properties. The Nespresso machine with the frother made delicious coffee. There was a lovely basket of fruit and some candies on the counter.
The host was prompt and helpful in responding to questions too.
I wish I could have stayed longer but will return if it’s available again next time. What a gem!

We needed to leave very early before breakfast opened and they let us go into the breakfast room to grab some food even before it opened. We asked if they would store our bags for a couple days after we left and they were so happy to. On the way back we were late retrieving our bags (after hours) and they went out of their way to make it possible for us to get them quite late even after the staff had gone home. So communicative and generous. Would absolutely stay again! Also very short (2-3 min) walk to a great dinner restaurant, which was so convenient. Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.Guest review byKimNew Zealand - 10.0

Loved the friendly people, very creative and arty outlets, and artists, lovely eateries and markets, lots to do and see. We unfortunately got caught in the bad weather and were stranded for two more days - would have been great, but too wet and flooded to do anything else.
