Built in 1865 and restored in 1902, Otira Stagecoach Hotel is situated in the heart of the Arthur's Pass National Park. It offers antiques throughout as well as stagecoaches and horse wagons outside. A unique, 'out of the box' experience. The hotel is a living museum, with antique paraphernalia and curios everywhere. The furniture in the rooms is amazing. Feels like you have stepped back in time to the 1800s. Lester and Sam were excellent as hosts. Meals were great quality and value. The bar (available to in-house guests only) offered beer and wine at reasonable prices. There's not too much accommodation in the Otira / Arthur's Pass area with dining and bar facilities, so the Stagecoach Hotel fills a valuable niche.

Everyone was friendly and good to be around. My room was perfect for just me. The only thing that I had a "problem" with was carryiny my suitcase up the stairs.

An older cottage, but with modern facilities (fantastic bathroom, newer washer/dryer machines, comfy beds --enough for at least 4 people, probably more--, cozy living room with wood stove). Close enough to the 1 restaurant and 1 cafe/shop in Arthur's pass (1-minute drive), but away from the road so there's no traffic or other people. Great hosts with great communication.

Very friendly owner, beautiful place, comfy bed, everything you need. A very lovely place to stay for a really good price.

They are very friendly and welcoming, we didn’t expect this level of hospitality. Our room was very clean and cozy, a house and garden are beautiful. Jasmine is an excellent cook and breakfasts made by her are very tasty. It felt like home for us. Thank you :)
