The food was excellent, and staff was very friendly. Great place for snorkeling, every offered excursion was a unique experience we where able to see sloths, western night monkeys, red dart frogs, 2 baby dolphins along with many adults, reef sharks, jelly fish, sea stars and many fish species along with stingrays snorkeling just out in front of the resort. The insects/bugs where minimum during our visit in September didn't even use our bug spray. This resort could be difficult for those who have an issue with some bugs and wildlife visiting them in there room, however you need to remember this is a nature resort and you are sleeping in a bungalow in the rainforest. With this fact in mind the amount of bugs and such in our room was very minimal and did not bother us at all the rooms where very clean.
All of the special attentions of Carmen and Marcel to make you feel at home. In our case, the special skills of Carmen to adapt breakfast and dinner to our special diet restrictions and alkergies.
Then, obviously, the paradise view and decks to admire it. Also the free Kayak to vist surroundings.
So, really great place.
Our bungalow was nestled in the middle of the forest where we listened to all of nature's beautiful sounds. The food and cocktails were amazing and the lodge has a beautiful view. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The Cacao Tour was educational and the grounds are well maintained. Highly recommended A++
The food was fantastic. We have food allergies and the staff was excellent in helping us. We were able to enjoy everything. The location and resort were wonderful and we had the opportunity to see many animals and beautiful plants, trees and flowers. We even spotted 3 red frogs :)
I truly loved the Island of Bastimentos of which I stayed.
I truly loved the Island of Bastimentos of which I stayed. I did long walks along the island and I also hiked right through the middle of the island to get to Wizard beach. It's a gem that's unspoiled and untouched by droves of tourist. I hope it stays that way.
However, I have one big issue with this Island called Bastimentos that was heart breaking for me. There was entirely too much garbage strewn along the edges circulating the island. They need a major litter clean up campaign by this community. It was a turn off for such a beautiful Island with beautiful people.
Entirely to much garbage like plastic bottles, cans, glass bottles, old cloths, bags, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. I don't know if it's washed up by the sea from neighboring islands or thrown there by the community. It's highly visible and can ruin visitors coming here if they don't clean it up.
I can only hope this matter of pollution is addressed. All the best Bastimentos.
