Set within a unique tropical garden beside the lagoon, Hôtel Fenua Mata'i'oa features a bar and an on site restaurant. Guests at this waterfront property can relax in the outdoor hot tub. Beautiful hotel, very private. Eilleen puts a lot of effort in making sure your experience is the best possible. Location could not be better, it is right in front of the spot where you can swim with sharks and rays. Service is amazing, everybody is extremely nice. We had all our breakfasts and dinners there and they were the best we've had, both in terms of food and decoration. Everything is home made, the bread, the pastries etc. Eilleen booked all our activities and they were great quality. We enjoyed being picked on the hotel's pontoon. We highly recommend it!

This city is located on the beautiful island of Moorea. The town was very quaint but beautiful. It has a charm with shopping for the island and native culture. The waters are very healing and also beautiful to look at.
It is in a quiet, tranquil area of Moorea, closer to Cook's Bay and Onopahu Bay. There are more private villas and pensions in this area.
Moorea was beautiful. We went on a whale and dolphin watching tour. Saw dolphins, flying fish, turtles, swam with humpback whales, stingray feeding, snorkeling. Amazing day! We also went Diving with Top Dive. We saw lemon sharks, reef sharks and turtles as well as a ton of different tropical fish. We also saw dolphins from the boat. We rented a car and drove around the island. Nice to see the area. Easy driving there. Definitely recommend a visit here! Restaurants will come pick you up for dinner and bring you back. A great way to get out to see the area and enjoy local good.
Restruants were within walking distance and we NEVER had safty concerns. Local's are friendly and inviting. Polynesia is an island chain and everything is imported so keep in mind it is pricy. We walked to the Yacht club and Rudys, which were fantastic. We had a car and checked out the entire island. A visit to Jus de Fruits de Moorea S.A. for Tahiti Drink was a bonus.
Nice laid back Southern part of Moorea. From there, you can drive to Temae beach (15-20 min) or the beach on the West coast with the big totem.
Beautiful Island in general terms. This part of the Island is our favorite- we've visited Moorea 9 times. As with all islands; the weather and conditions can change quickly and extremely. This area seems to be the most stable. The sun seems to smile on this side of the island more so than other parts. The Cook Bay & Oponuoo Bay are on each side of this area, so the views are stunning, especially from the water looking back at the shore. The coral reefs are abundant and teaming with fish, shark and rays. It's relatively shallow and calm as well. (You can be a 1/2 mile out and the bottom is 12 ft down.)
Once again it was an amazing trip. We loved The Sofitel and it's wonderful beach, great food and wonderful staff. The concierge got us a shuttle to Avis rent a car and for $100 we rented a car for 4 hours and drove around the island, shopped and saw the sites. Beautiful!! Next time I would rent the car for longer because we didn't have time to drive up to The Belvedere, an amazing look out in Moorea.
Moorea is a beautiful island that has one main beach road around it that is easy to navigate and see all the natural beauty that is evident everywhere you look. There are great places to stay but no highrises which makes it even more charming and desireable. There are many great beachside restaurants to choose from. A must experience, is the Tiki Village dinner and theater. It is the most authentic Polynesian dinner and show I've ever seen and it is filled with heart...and fire! Go!
The Tiki Village was the best luau with authentic Tahitian food. ThE quantity and quality was the best in Polynesia. The entertainment was excellent. The musicians and dancers were the best in the Society Islands. Highly recommended. A must when visiting Moorea, especially the evening show.
Perfect for food and shopping. Go to coco island (motu) and Coco d’isle (in town) for great food. You can walk easily to shop and eat. We booked a wave runner, snorkeled, played with stingrays and rented a car. The only thing that was REALLY upsetting was seeing all of the starving and sick dogs and cats around the island. The government should do something about this situation, as it makes a lot of tourists VERY upset. They should put in a free spay and neuter program to cut down on all of the population of dogs and cats and require people to feed their animals on a daily basis!!!!! I ended up buying dog food and feeding hungry dogs all around Moorea!!!!!!!

The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had and greeted us with fresh cut fruit when we arrived. The location was perfect to go to the Lagoonarium (one of the highlights of our trip) and travel around Moorea. The fish at the grocery store is so much better than the sushi grade I can buy at home and our favorite meals were made in our cabana's kitchen. I highly recommend renting a car as there is little public transportation and few (very expensive) taxis. We were only on Moorea for 3 days and regret not staying longer.

The dorm building is not a standard dorm, but beds are separated by thin walls open at the top and bottom so there's a lot of privacy. A lot of space too. Mosquito net was provided. The kitchen is huge - probably the best hostel kitchen I have ever seen and a dining space on the terrace where you can easily socialize with other travellers. They also provided mosquito repellent (mosquitoes in Moorea are fierce). Marie is very helpful and will happily stop by for a chat with the guests.

A perfect beach location and a roomy 1 bedroom bungalow. Although we had a car (that was helpfully arranged by our hosts) it was walking distance to a grocery store and a great restaurant. The owners are great hosts and arranged for whatever we needed. Theres a nice private deck that is fully furnished and perfect for meals and relaxing. Kayaks, snorkel gear and bikes included! Thank you, Stephane and Franck for a great week on beautiful Moorea!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel on the Northwest side of Moorea. Rooms were nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent and breakfast was something to wake up early for. Kayaks and snorkeling gear are available to guest for no extra costs. The beach is nice and there are reefs not far from the shore. Food is also close buy but having a car or scooter provided more options. We will be coming back to this place.

the location is superb. the hosts are most loving and helpful. you need a car to stay here or in reality anywhere in Moorea, but a scooter will do. Make sure you have cash to pay for the stay since the host will not take credit cards. They also have snorkeling equip. and bikes and the public beach is 2 km away. please note this property is NOT on the beach and it is a BNB. Thank you Cathie and Terriey for sharing your home with us.

Everything! Mark let me enjoy his barbecue, booked a wonderful excursion through his friend, the bungalow was perfect and was cleaned every day (is rarely done on Moorea). He took care of my knee after I had fallen by bike in a previous place, so that I could start my return flight in a pleasant way. If I ever go back to Moorea, I'll go back to Mark's Place!

Just as good as the best /more expensive resorts on Moorea.Very convenient location with a few minute walk to the village (shopping ,supermarket). Very nice pool, stayed in the Garden view room, second floor, with great terrace.

The owners were very helpful and considerate. The small on the beach atmosphere is quite a refreshing change from the large resorts that are more common on Moorea.

Free use of kayaks, bicycles and snorkels a real plus. Off the property pier there were daily visits by nurse and blacktipped sharks to swim with/observe. Bus goes by a few times a day, taxis also available. Some restaurants have pick up and return drop off service for dinner. Away from resorts, private area and beach. Lovely lanai breakfast available for extra fee. Car or scooter rentals will drop off at your location.

The concept of the property is to provide an appartement and NOT a hotel service which was exactly what wee were looking for , all what you need is in the area , supermarket , shops , restaurants, tours, scuba diving etc... The facility location is great , perfect for family and couples , good value for money

Auguste & Dora were wonderful hosts during my stay. I planned to only stay 2 nights, but ended up staying 5 since the atmosphere was so relaxed and the property is right on the water. The breakfast was great too.

It was in a perfect location right on the bay. We were able to do some snorkeling and swimming right off the pier. Plus Phillipe was a gracious host. I'm sorry we weren't there longer
