Spankingly new hotel, and you can tell the owners didn't scrimp on the furnishings and the details. I loved the location of the hotel in Saldanha. Its not in an overtly touristy area but has several retails establishments nearby (Zara, Massimo, supermarkets, etc), and is a quick ride to the historic centre of Lisbon (8 euros by Uber). The hotel has both an indoor and an outdoor pool.

This modern design hotel is meticulously designed to provide every attention to detail. Take a moment to admire the artistic tile mural on the ground floor. Our suite was situated on the corner, boasting three balconies that offered a breathtaking view of the beach and the lively promenade below. It was a perfect spot for people-watching. The suite featured a spacious, comfortable bed, a cosy sitting area, and a large bathroom with an overhead shower. There was even an espresso coffee machine, although they didn’t have a kettle. I kindly requested one, and it arrived the same afternoon. Additionally, they offered same-day laundry, which was a great service. The reception and housekeeping staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of options to suit every taste. And the restaurant was equally impressive. However, there’s a slight downside: the parking garage can be a bit tight for large SUVs. But if you arrive early enough, there’s usually parking outside and street parking is free of charge. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. A little tip: when exiting to the promenade on level 0, take the first right instead of continuing on to the promenade. This road will lead you straight to many excellent restaurants via a narrow alleyway. We had a wonderful stay and hope you enjoy your time here as much as we did.

We liked the location very much: a quiet pedestrian street in an old part of Lisbon. Still a residential area despite some tourist accommodation. Lots of small cafes very close by, some traditional, some trendy. You'll be close to the Puppet Museum and a 10m walk away from the excellent Museu de Arte Antinguo, where there's a beautiful riverside garden and cafe. It's a 15 to 20 minutes walk in the other direction to the central Praca do Commercio. If you don't like walking, catch a tram or an Uber. Inside, the studio apartment is a bright, well designed space on the ground floor. The kitchen is well equipped and we very much appreciated the washing machine. Shower gel, cleaning products etc all provided, which made for an easy stay. There's a spacious cupboard which is big enough for those of us who don't travel light! We would certainly come back to this apartment if it was available. We come to Lisbon a lot and this was one of the best apartments we've found for price and location.

Wonderful Stay Experience I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the brilliant breakfast and the exceptional service from all the hotel staff. Everyone was extremely polite and friendly, which truly enhanced our experience. We enjoyed everything about our stay, although we did notice that the indoor pool is only accessible to kids from 9:00-11:00 and 15:00-19:00. Aside from that, everything was fantastic! The reception team was incredibly welcoming, and the manager was outstanding as well. Overall, I give a heartfelt 10/10 to the entire team for their excellent service. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

I am rarely this impressed with a hotel.. Great welcome, very kind staff, beautifully built resort, with a very interesting apartment system. One of the best massage I have ever had. Nice and very clean indoor&outdoor pool. Excellent breakfast. The calm&serenity of the place with the mild wind of the atlantic.. I cannot say enough. We were very tired when we arrived and left fully recharged at the end of our 3 night stay. I highly recommend this resort. I was told it is not this calm during the school holidays though:))

Scored out of 10, guest rating 10

Lisbon is great city with lots to see and do.

Lisbon is great city with lots to see and do. But be prepared to walk up and down many, many hills and stairs. This city is not for the faint of heart. While you can experience it riding around in a cab, tuk tuk or metro, you will miss a lot of what it has to offer. Be aware that most museums are closed on Mondays so do your homework if you are visiting to get the most out of our time here. Expect long line ups at the popular sights, such as Castello Sao Jorge and Jeronimos Monestary. And if you are visiting during high season these line ups will be even longer. we purchased the Lisboa card thinking it would save us money. we barely broke even. With the closures on the Mondays and not being able to get into the Monestary. The Monestary reserves the right to limit entry to guest. i.e. it's a timed entry for paid patrons. So if you have a Lisboa card you have a special fast track line, but this only applies if they have tickets left. If it's all sold out you can't get in, unless of course you buy a timed entry, which defeats the purpose of the card. So DON'T buy the card if that is what you want to see exclusively and your going during high season.

All three of the main sights are quite spectacular (Pena, Quinta Regaleira, Moorish castle). We went in October so the crowds were not too bad. That is the only downside I think is that in the summer it may be incredibly crowded as it is so close to Lisbon and there are so many day tours from there. The Pena palace has extensive beautiful grounds so if you like walking, you can escape the crowds. There are other places to hike and other nearby sights like Monserrate Palace that I would have liked to explore that we did not have time for. We stayed 2.5 days.

The location is superb, the local market and a huge supermarket - Pingo Doce is nearby, available in 3 minutes. City centre can be reached in 10 minutes, local restaurants offer traditional Portuguese food - YOU MUST TRY CHOCO FRITO --> fried squid with fresh salad, there is no chocolate applied :-) You can reach the ferry to Troia peninsula in 10 minutes, in case you love the ocean and wants to walk along alone the ocean shore, picking some seashells, listening to the waves, admiring the sunset, you must visit Troia peninsula Buses and train are offering possibilities to reach shorter and longer destinations - eg. Sesimbra with a spectacular ocean shore. Setúbal is a nice and cozy town, easy to reach from Lisbon by bus or by ferry. This was the third time I've visited Setúbal, I'm sure I'll return again. :-)

Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg). The main problem for us was the ddual carriageway that passes right by the beaches.

There were two issues that were not quite good. One, the air conditioning was not working properly; one night it was too cold and the other 6 nights it did not work at all. Secondly, the shower was very slippery. I almost fell and slightly hurt my foot trying to prevent a fall. Other than that, everything else was extraordinary.

Montijo is a hidden gem that beautifully blends traditional charm with modern amenities. Nestled close to Lisbon yet far enough to offer a serene escape, this town captivates with its rich history, friendly locals, and stunning natural landscapes. The quaint streets, vibrant markets, and delicious local cuisine provide an authentic taste of Portuguese culture. Its proximity to the Tagus River offers picturesque views and opportunities for leisurely walks or boat rides. Montijo is also a gateway to beautiful farm stays, where you can experience the peaceful countryside and savor fresh, local produce. The town's relaxed pace and welcoming vibe make it perfect for unwinding, while its convenient location allows easy exploration of nearby attractions. Whether you’re seeking tranquility, cultural immersion, or a base for day trips, Montijo delivers an unforgettable experience. A true Portuguese treasure that leaves you wanting to return!
