the oppertuniry of offering bicycles to their guests (free of charge - very important note) is big win! park the car in their garage and you’re a bikes distance to sny where within the city center. that was a deal breaker for me during my stay at least.

The cozy, friendly, helpful, accommodating hotel is right in the center of the small, charming, peaceful town of Lidkoping. We were permitted to check in early, which was very convenient. Our room's large windows looked out on the very large town square. Breakfast was very good, the machine coffee better than other hotels. Complimentary hot drinks, pastries and small sandwiches are available all day. The staff was kind and helpful and we were very pleased with our stay

The hotel was everything we wanted and more. The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds. The bathroom was sparkling clean and had all the necessary amenities. The view of the river and the old city of Karlstad from the room was amazing. There's a large parking lot in front of the hotel with free parking for the guests. The swimming pool and the saunas are in a great condition and really nice to visit after a long day. The breakfast is great - there's plenty of choices for food, all delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Totally can recommend to stay!

We spent 3 nights at Upperud 9:9 as a family and had a fantastic experience. The location is exceptional - right by the lake, calm and atmospheric. The accommodation is comfortable and full of character. Breakfast was good, and the dinner was truly excellent. The staff were attentive and kindly accommodated our special requests, which we greatly appreciated. Highly recommended for a relaxing and memorable stay

The hotel was perfect. I especially enjoyed the location. Set back from the road so that there was no noise, next to a forest, where you could walk and the lake was about 200m away walking through the forest. Nearby was an Italian restaurant, a little pricey, but I ate there twice, the pasta was among the best Italian I've ever had. The town itself is delightful.

We travelled with a large family and this place exceeded all our expectations. The cabin we booked was very nice, the communication with the staff very seamless. Value for money very good. Nice lake nearby where you can take a walk and swim. The place had plenty of attractions for the kids - playground, a very big jumping arena, adventure track etc.

This is an excellent hotel With friendly helpful staff I got a txt message before I arrived asking if there was anything I needed before I arrived I jokingly said a cold cider in my room But that's exactly what was waiting for me when I got in 🍻😁 Also free motorbike parking outside the hotel and a fantastic restaurant

The most friendly and warm staff at the reception. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is mostly organic. Very fresh and delicious. The restaurant is exceptional! All dishes made from the organic food grown in their own garden. Amazing food for fair prices. Book a table in advance!

The ladies at the reception were super nice. We got a cabin right in front of the lake so the view was wonderful. The service house with toilets and showers was CLEAN all the time. We tried different camapsites in the area and this was the best and the cleanest. Beds are very comfy!

The Lars Lerin art gallery has beautiful paintings of...

The Lars Lerin art gallery has beautiful paintings of Swedish landscapes by him. Boat trips from Innre Hamn (Inner Harbour) take you on trips out to islands and around town on the river for the price of a bus fare. Only in the summer months though. Walk along the river for beautiful views, see the old church, town hall etc. Plenty of cafes and restaurants especially around the town square. Have a coffee on the Stadshotell roof terrace with lovely views across the river.

Kristinehamn has an interesting history going back to the...

Kristinehamn has an interesting history going back to the mid 1500ers. So a meander around the historic centre of town is recommended. Defo a visit to Picasso's Sculpture! 👍 👍 and Kristinehamn Konstmuseum 👍. We only stayed 2 nights. Plenty more to do if you're in to nature, like boattrips, canoeing, nature walks. For those with interest for more historic facts I'm sure the History museum, Kristinehamn Historiska is worth a visit.

Very nice and peaceful suroundings, particulary at Ronnum Herrgård were vi stayed 2 nights. Only appr. 15 minuter by car to Vänersborg and Trollhättan. The service at Ronnum Herrgård was extremely good, nice and helpful people and a very good restaurant. Can well recomend this place for owenighting to my friends.

Nice little town with some beautiful buildings, well kept communal spaces and gardens, lots of flowers. Enjoyable to walk around the residential areas. Nice harbour and park by the lake. Good atmosphere.

Nice little town, much more pleasant when the weather is good. It has a fair amount of facilities such as choice of food shops: Ica, Hemkop and maybe a few more. There are cafe's and restaurants, one of the favourites are Kanyans Thai restaurant and cafe. They do serve nice cakes and buns with coffee etc. It is pretty stress free driving in the area and some hidden gems in the countryside: forest area and around the beaches of Varnern: Vita Sannar. The lake Orsjon is very tranquil and pleasant for children and families alike.

Second visit to Karlstad and both times have been too short.

Second visit to Karlstad and both times have been too short. There is a lot to see, especially around the cultural area, including the Värmlands Museum and Sandgrund Lars Lerin. And pleasant strolls along the river and canals.

Karlstad is the biggest little city in Sweden and a joy to...

Karlstad is the biggest little city in Sweden and a joy to visit. What other city with <100,000 population even has its own opera house and cathedral? The lakeside setting where Klarälven meets Lake Vänern is gorgeous. There's lots to see and do within the city, even as it is very human-sized and walkable.
