As I leave Göreme and Cappadocia, I look back at the five wonderful nights we spent at Olivia Cave Hotel—truly among the most beautiful nights of our trip. The hotel is charming, very family-friendly, and everyone there goes above and beyond to help the guests. A special thanks to Gencay, who helped us arrange everything—from the hot air balloon to the other activities in Cappadocia. We were extremely lucky to fly the balloon on our first day, especially since it was canceled on the following days due to weather conditions. Gencay and his brother were very kind and supportive, helping calm our fears and encouraging us to take the flight—and we’re so glad we did. He was always friendly, polite, and respectful, and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast deserves a special mention. It was a warm, family-style breakfast, freshly prepared every morning with great care. You can truly feel the homemade touch and the love behind every dish, which made each morning start in a cozy and authentic way. I also want to mention his father, who was incredibly warm and kind. He said goodbye to us last night as if we were part of the family. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone I know visiting Cappadocia, and I will certainly stay here again on my next trip.

Stayed for 2 nights at Argos as a treat and it was worth the stay. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Rooms were spacious and well equipped with heater/ac. A heated towel rack is provided in the bathroom which is appreciated during the winter. Umbrellas are also provided in the room. I loved that the hotel provided a good hair dryer. The shower had good water pressure and temperature. The bed was comfortable. Turn down service is provided as well with a hot water bottle, slippers and a snack. The hotel is located with picturesque views of pigeon valley below and walking distance to the castle just behind (there is also a golf buggy service which you can take from the reception that drops you off at the entrance of the castle). You can get a nice view of the hot air balloons from the car park in the morning. We tried both restaurants at the hotel. Food and service were excellent. The produce used for the restaurants are farmed from the valley below the rooms and they also have their own vineyard and selection of wines. The breakfast spread was huge!!! The hotel tour at 5pm was informative and well organised. There is also a beautiful spa and a gym room on the property. My only regret is not bringing along my swimsuit to use the heated swimming pool. We had an amazing stay at Argos and highly recommend it just for the great service from the staff and overall experience.

We spent 5 amazing days in this place. Every day started with a delicious breakfast and some hours spent in the terrace under the November sun. Traveling during this period was such a great choice (less people, beautiful autumn sunny weather). They have a beautiful terrace just in front of the restaurant but we also had our private one where we could chill. I recommend taking a room with terrace, is totally worth it. I think the place is even better than in the pictures, the atmosphere, the music and vibes were magical. All the staff were very professional and kind, both of the hotel and Moniq restaurant. A special thanks to Resul, that spent plenty of time guiding us through what to do based on the number of days we were staying, booked us a wonderful ballon ride and many more things he did for us every single day . We also had dinner twice at Moniq restaurant, one in front of the fireplace in the room, very romantic and cozy. The baklava was delicious and the cocktails also super high quality. If you are planning to travel here, Taskonaklar is the place to be, trust me. The lazy mornings just laying in the sun, facing the valleys, in this perfect hotel, were the best memories I will bring with me home.

I loved everything about this hotel — the room, the staff, the breakfast, the bed, and the terrace. Everything was great and felt perfect. The breakfast had a good variety and was delicious. The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful — they even assisted us when we lost our phone, which we truly appreciated. We booked the Green Tour, a sunrise horse riding tour, and airport transfers directly through the hotel, as they offered great prices. The hotel is also easy to find and surrounded by plenty of food options. I truly recommend this hotel!

Me and my husband had a lot of fun staying in this hotel! The room was amazing and it gave us the opportunity to experience living in a cave. The highlight of course was the breakfast, it had amazing variety and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner is very helpful you can get an airport shuttle and rent a car from the property without having to go anywhere.

Göreme is absolutely beautiful and feels like something out of a fairy tale. My favorite spots were the Göreme Open Air Museum, the sunset viewpoints overlooking the fairy chimneys, and simply wandering through the charming streets and cafés. We enjoyed eating at local Turkish restaurants and cafés serving delicious kebabs, gözleme, and fresh baklava. There are plenty of great options with scenic terraces where you can enjoy the views. Getting around Göreme is quite easy on foot since most attractions, restaurants, and shops are close together. For places farther away, taxis, rental scooters, or organized tours are convenient options. For groups of friends, I highly recommend taking a hot air balloon ride, joining the Green or Red Tour, going on an ATV sunset tour through the valleys, hiking in Love Valley or Rose Valley, and watching the sunrise as hundreds of balloons fill the sky. It's an unforgettable destination with plenty to do together.

Stunning location dominated by the amazing Uchisar castle. However, the authorities really need to be careful not to overdevelop it, which seems to be happening at quite a rate. They should also establish some rules on noise pollution. On Friday and Saturday nights, there is a venue that blasts loud live music till 1am in the morning, which is really unacceptable.

Hot air balloon rides to bustling decent crowd in the evenings, the place has an awesome vibe. You can enjoy the nature and man-made recreational experiences alike. A must Go To location for the families and friends alike.

Get a private guide and avoid the massive crowds.

Get a private guide and avoid the massive crowds. Stay in a smaller village around Urgup. Try to stay in a 'cave' type facility, it adds to the adventure. Get out of the mainstream and visit the smaller, lesser known sites. There are more underground cities than the two main ones that are besieged by bus people. Try the one in Mazi, the staff is wonderful, parking easy and the village great to visit. The smaller villages offer so much more culture and lesser crowds.

We stayed in Ortahisar during our visit to Cappodocia.

We stayed in Ortahisar during our visit to Cappodocia. It was the right speed for our family, we could walk around and explore in safety and felt like we were in places that reflected the history of the region, not like the major commercial zoo that is Goreme. It's a small place, but had what we needed for our 4 days stay, multiple restaurants, coffee shops, markets. The people were welcoming and it was one of our favorite stops on our trip.

It is a lovely small town next to Goreme (famous for the hot air balloon rides and pointed rock structures) so its a short ride away with none of the hustle and bustle of a touristy town. It has many local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, to eat at without breaking the bank. There is a promenade with on the river with jungle gyms and play areas for little kids. And fishing is also possible from the banks of the river.

The old civilization and their remains is a main attraction.. the monk valley view is good and caves of this city is lovey to watch .. night dance live show is wonderful .. u can have a green tour there if u want to explore more about the city .. and hot air balloon is one of the main attraction of cappadocia…

Goreme offers the hot air balloon rides, exploring the open air museum, and also the underground cities, the ancient churches and so many other sights in the Kappadokya area. Not to mention the plethora of small souvenir shops and eateries in the streets of Goreme - very colourful and engaging. I would recommend having your own car, to tour these sights at your own pace. Plan for at least 3 days to get through the major attractions.

Amazing- stayed 3 nights, we managed to do the Balloons and...

Amazing- stayed 3 nights, we managed to do the Balloons and also a guided tour. Its well worth staying at least 3 nights to do the guided tours and take time to walk around and have nice dinners in the restaurants.
