What a great surprise! We travel to the area at least 3-4 times a year and have always stayed elsewhere. This was our first time at the Fairfield. I can assure you we will be staying here in the future. It had all the amenities you could ask for; however, it was the staff that made the difference.

Everything. The heated pool was such an amazing amenity, the lake and recreational floats like kayaks and (our favorite) the pedal boat made the stay that much better. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they provided papers that informed of all local eateries and attractions. The rooms were clean and modern, and overall the property is just beautiful. Definitely exceeded all expectations by miles; never been to a better motel.

We had a great time overall.

We had a great time overall. Prospect Mountain park was disappointing though. We heard the views were great, however most of the views from the scenic overlooks, 2 of 4 ,were obscured by trees. Fee to enter the park is $10, there should be some notification that you cannot see a panoramic view of the lake.

I had to change rooms because the original room was up a flight of stairs which I would have difficulty with a bum leg, as it turned out the motel did not have a back door so I had to walk around the motel to get in the front door. not very convenient but over all the room was adequate. just barely.

This is our second trip to Saranac in a month.

This is our second trip to Saranac in a month. Went out for the ice castle earlier in the month and back more recently for college tour in a nearby town. Blue Moon Café is fabulous and the nearby brew pubs a great way to end the day. Enjoyed stopping into a few of the shops on historic Main Street, Adirondack Hamlets to Huts https://adkh2h.org/shop/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=local&utm_content=website-button and the music store Ampersound. Appreciated the free public parking right on Main Street as well!

Many trips now to Old Forge as I meet high school friends there for golf and many great places to eat. We golf Thendara in Old Forge, Inlet and this year at Woodgate Pines in Boonville. Always eat at The Steak House on Tuesday nite and always try to have breakfast at The Pancake Place. Breakfast twice now at The Front Door/Back Door across from the movie theatre. Dinner after Inlet golf at The Screamen Eagle in Inlet and on Wednesday we have tried a few places here and there.

Beautiful Ausable River runs in the heart of the village.

Beautiful Ausable River runs in the heart of the village. Water is clean enough to take a dip and there is a waterfall which makes for a great hang-out spot. Restaurants abound for breakfast and dinner, would recommend the Hungry Trout resort restaurant for a delicious dinner with river views and great service. Activities include riverside hikes and swims in the summer, and skiing in the winter. We will be back.

Beautiful old buildings, good staff, fair restaurant.

Beautiful old buildings, good staff, fair restaurant. Don't go if you can't stand noisy, unmanaged children running up and down halls during sleep time, jumping up and down in the floor above late into the evening and forcing you and your pardner out onto the deck of the restaurant because you couldn't hear each other talk for all the yelling, running and shouting about 20 RUDE children.

The hotel was close to our venue, the room was clean and comfortable once you got inside. Key cards were very unreliable not just for me but others were having the same problems . Plan on having breakfast at another location. Breakfast is the most important meal of your day ?? Well you’re not getting it here. Parking was close to hotel and actually had a space for an Old Veteran. The area is Safe and close to interstate off/on ramp.

I loved touring the fort, get there early before 11 to be able to see most of the demonstrations of the muskets. The cannon demonstration was nice and loud. The amount and beauty of canons was amazing. It was humbling to walk in the steps of so much history. The King's Garden was very nice with a walled garden and beautiful glass greenhouse from England. Although it was late in the season, there were still flowers to be seen and enjoyed. The views of Lake Champlain from all directions is breathtaking. Be sure to take a ride on the Carillion Boat for an entertaining and informative river cruise. Mt Defiance also has spectacular views of the lake and the mountains of Vermont on the other side. All of the site's staff are dressed in historic attire and are a wealth of knowledge on the fort and the battles.

We returned to the Olympian for the fourth time in late July and there are several reasons why. The scenery from their dock is gorgeous, the rooms are clean and comfortable, you can walk directly across the street to a great deli/store and restaurant and it's a short distance driving to Lake George Village and Bolton's Landing. You can either take a dip in the clean, clear waters of the lake or the huge pool and there is a recreation area with games and picnic area with grills. Wendy, the Motel Manager is extremely accommodating and friendly and we always look forward to seeing her. I would give this Motel five stars! James McHale
