We truly enjoyed our stay! The space was beautifully decorated, spotless, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The view, layout, and overall vibe were fantastic—it's clear the hosts put a lot of care into creating a welcoming environment. We wanted to get into the property an hour earlier at 2 pm, and the hosts were accommodating about setting up an additional payment so we could enter one hour before check-in.

Expensive, food is way over priced for what you get.

Expensive, food is way over priced for what you get. Its a tourist place so parking is very limited. The hotels aren't that great basic hotels. Ok place to visit for a day. But, keep in mind the traffic, the packed marinas and the over priced not so great food. (ie paid 35 bucks for some cruddy fries and a small hot dog lobster roll thing) Ok place to visit for a day, maybe in the summer the beaches are nice? We went in the spring it was windy and colder.

I LOVE this little town.

I LOVE this little town. Great food, great sites and just a calm and laid-back vibe. A great get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a lot of little hidden shops and art. LOVED Kings Roast Beef Pizza and Seafood which is right across from Walgreens in town. Didn't look like much but the food was SO good. Also had pizza at Leonardo's which was really good as well. We ate lobster at the Causeway Restaurant which was also really good. Twin lobsters for $50 and fried clams were amazing as well.

We loved being across the street from both Woodman's (iconic fried clams) and Dunkin Donuts (great coffee ++). The view from the deck of the Essex River was beautiful - at night you could watch the lights from the boats coming in!

Ac was broken from the start, every night was miserable hot,( 81,84,80 degrees)in the house. No one fixed it nor compensated us. I actually waited a few months to see if they would but no. I will not recommend nor will I give a good rating to the service it was listed with and the owner ,who lives onsite

Smaller, more intimate than Gloucester, but still accessible to Boston by commuter rail. Large selection of local artisan wares. Managed to snag a reservation at My Place By the Sea. Would revisit but not before also trying places more frequented by locals.

I love visiting Gloucester - seeing the magnificent views, walking along the harbor and at Stage Fort Park, Good Harbor Beach, Eastern Point Jetty, watching the fishing boats come and go. The Azorean Restaurant is one of our favorites. We could walk there from our hotel.

Essex is a small town with a causeway with a boat marina along the Essex River. There are many antique stores, several excellent restaurants with a nice variety of menus, a brewery, and a variety of shops with local artisans wares. There is also a Ship Building Museum, Essex River Cruises, kayaking rentals, historic buildings ( the Congregational church has a Paul Revere Bell) and old graveyard. It is a interesting town to visit.

A charming town with much to see and do in and around the town. Excellent food options. We especially loved the lobster rolls and fries at Bearskin Neck Bistro and the donuts at the Brothers Cafe. Shalin Liu Performance Center and the Paper House were two places not to miss. And you can't leave Rockport without seeing Motif #1.

I have been to Gloucester several times.

I have been to Gloucester several times. I usually spend two to three days at a time. There are many things to do there. The beaches are absolutely stunning. Bear in mind, out-of-towners need to book tickets in advance for parking. The beaches are worth paying for, though. I love Good Harbor Beach, but Stage Fort Park is also amazing with lots to explore. There are some great museums to visit, including Hammond Castle and the Beauport, Sleeper-McCann House. In nearby Ipswich is the Castle on a Hill. In all three locations the grounds are worth exploring, the views are beautiful, and guided tours are interesting and informative. There are other types of museums for people with other inetrests, but I have not yet been. Rocky Neck is home to art galleries and shops. This is a nice place to stroll, browse, and maybe purchase art. I have enjoyed some very good meals in and around Gloucester, most recently at Seaport Grill. The food and service were wonderful. Drinks were also well made.
