A charming place, thoughtfully restored. It was absolutely the kind of cozy getaway I was after! The uniquely appointed rooms are spotless and contain thoughtful touches. The boutique, bar, and restaurant downstairs are great! I hung out in a cushy leather chair next to the pellet stove, armed with a good book and great beers. The owner and all staff are super friendly and accommodating. Eric even put together a "care package" of pastries for my hike in the morning!

It was super clean. And the staff was great. Both husband and wife team, who ran the place where super friendly, and the breakfast was awesome. The room was small but very charming and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place. Nice mountain air, beautiful scenery, and great hospitality. Definitely going back.

We loved everything about the sophisticated simplicity of this house and hope to return. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Loved the wood burning stove. The setting in the forest is quite peaceful.

Absolutely loved this property from the room straight...
Absolutely loved this property from the room straight through to the management. Christina was fantastic! Always cheery, professional and ready to help get you whatever you need to make your stay a really great one. Room was clean and well appointed. The views were absolutely fantastic!!!! We were so happy with our stay, we are coming back for my birthday in July.

Big Indian has special meaning for me as I used to come up...
Big Indian has special meaning for me as I used to come up here to stay in a home on one of the mountains, hike up the mountains, participate in winter & summer activities for years as a younger child & adult. I also had to settle some issues for my brother's estate who passed away a year ago & visit friends in the area. Weather was perfect during our stay there, also.

Boiceville offers many trails, a stunning rail trail, and local activities. You can rent bikes for the rail trail which runs along the beautiful Ashokan Reservoir. If you want to explore the area a bit, you are 20 minutes from the town of Woodstock which offers many dining options and an eclectic selection of stores. 15 minutes in the other direction is the town of Phoenecia - another favorite destination. In the warmer months you can go tubing on the Esopus. Or, you may choose to just relax at the Mountain House and enjoy the view.

We loved the beautiful scenery of the Catskill forest.
We loved the beautiful scenery of the Catskill forest. We traveled to Phoenicia and Margaretsville to try different dining options. Our favorite was the microbrewery in Phoenicia. Even though it rained the whole weekend we loved the trip away from crowded Long Island. The Esopus Creek is a great location to catch Trout or take a dip in hot weather. The creek is what brought me to the area.
