Great little town that I need to return to!
Great little town that I need to return to! I was in town for a wedding and wished I had been able to stay an extra day or two - even in the middle of prime tourist season! Really enjoyed driving outside of town to visit orchards - would love to return in the fall!Guest review byChristinaUnited States - 10.0

Beautiful sunrises and the frequency of AA meetings for me to attend in The Dalles makes it all the more pleasant and peaceful for this newly recovering guy to be in a good place mentally!!! I highly recommend Cousins restaurant for a delicious breakfast and if I wasn't on the high protein low carbs diet I would demolish one of their cinnamon rolls!! They are huge and look devine 🫶Guest review byAnne MarieUnited States - 6.0

I have extended family history here and learn new things with every visit. We skipped the museum this time because of 4th of July madness. GREAT fireworks and some viewing areas allow you to see across the river where Stevenson is also putting on a show. The old Cascade Inn is just sad. But- the town looks to be trying to do a facelift. The new arcade is a cute idea, although we didn't go inside. That Chinese Food place hasn't been open for as far back as I can remember. LOVE the brewpubs and the upgraded former Charburger although it is the same style ordering process. Exploring the area is a treasure trove. Hiking and river sports seems to be the main draw. A drive into Hood River for shopping and seeing the beautiful historical houses is a must- Both brewhouses have great food and of course you cannot leave without an ice cream cone from the burger stand! It's the best I've ever enjoyed!Guest review byJanaUnited States - 10.0
Great quiet resort town close to Mt. Hood.
Great quiet resort town close to Mt. Hood. Offers fantastic hikes in Zigzag, and close to some U-Pick regions. Highly recommend Kayaking on Trillium lake, and we snuck down an hour and a half to Lak Billy Chinook and took out a pontoon for the day. You escape heat waves in Welches because of the altitude, so that's a huge bonus.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Enjoyed the view and the quiet of the area parking was crazy and not a very big noticeable sign as to where the place was. Steep gravel incline to go. Up and down and. People just parked wherever. Could easily get blocked in by others. Suggest that there be instructions re various property benefits in the room not just on a QR code as WiFi was very minimal. Requested early check in as we’re coming quite a ways when we initially booked and never heard anything back until day before arrival and the. Told they had people checking out early and wouldn’t able to finish them before 4 pm??? What’s wrong with that statement?? Earlier checkout usually means one can check in earlier if requested. Very confusing and the. Being asked How Was BREAKFAST?? Never informed of any breakfast included. Hopefully will get better with times d once communication is done without having to attempt WiFi or QR codes or internet but ability to read the info in the roomGuest review byAnonymousUnited States - 6.0
This is a lovely area of forest surrounding Mt.
This is a lovely area of forest surrounding Mt. Hood, which is worth seeing and visiting, as well as the Timberline Lodge. However, the main attraction is outdoor sports and breakfast at the Huckleberry Inn. If that isn't your thing, I'm not sure you'll enjoy it there. The drive from this area north to the Columbia River and Hood River the town is fun and worth it.Guest review byLaura CUnited States - 10.0

Highly recommend sulfuric/mineral bath house soak experience - just like we had in Europe! Don't need to stay at the hotel, might just get 1 hour pass, although afterwards feel so relaxed and sleepy, so might as well stay (hotel dated but comfortable).Guest review byAm & VUnited States - 10.0
It is a very cute town!
It is a very cute town! I was only in town for one night and ate at a restaurant that was very nice. I would like to have spent a day there to see some shops. There are some fabulous coffee shops and the view is fantastic.Guest review byAlexandraUnited States - 8.0

The reason we went to Goldendale was to attend the evening class at the observatory. That visit was exceptional even though there was too much cloud cover to see the moon and planets. The park ranger made the classroom discussion very interesting and informative even though the viewing was a bust.Guest review byMarieUnited States - 10.0

Sandy, Oregon is a busy place with lots of places to eat and things to do. It is about an hour's drive from Mt. Hood. Enjoyed the closeness of everything Sandy had to offer. Welches, Oregon was recommended for delicious food and fine dining. We planned to go there but it was the 4th of July and found it to be extremely busy.Guest review byCarolUnited States
