The people of International Falls are warm and inviting.
The people of International Falls are warm and inviting. The area is gorgeous with a BOATLOAD of things to do year rounround. Relax at Rainy Lake, visit the many parks and lakes, fish, hunt, rent a houseboat, canoe, kayak, bird watch and so much more. A few yummy restaurants we visited this trip included The Chocolate Moose, The Cantilever, and The Border Bar for pizza!Guest review byGloriaUnited States - 8.0

Oddly, the biggest disappointment was not being able to get a good view of the namesake Cantilever Bridge! It would be nice if the hotel had a little handout on where to see this historic piece of history. Tried to walk near the RR station where we could glimpse it down the tracks, but got chased off that property. Couldn't see much from the city pier. Loved the proximity to Rainy Lake, tho. We had plenty of plans for our four days there including a full day tour of Lake Kabetogama from the Woodenfrog campground to Kettle Falls and back (call Bill who operates Border Guide Service - fabulous!), and the great visitors centers, so we weren't at all bored. But Rainier itself has minimal offerings beyond the lovely parks - restaurants basically don't exist IN Ranier outside the Cantilever. Fortunately, the Cantilever Hotel is so charming, it's tempting to just hang around there all day!Guest review byBarbaraUnited States - 8.0

We only spent the one night in Intl Falls, on our way to a Houseboat vacation on Rainy Lake. We were able to spend sometime in the city the night before. Had dinner and drinks. We will be back again.Guest review byGregUnited States - 8.0
Super cool small town. Close to lots things to do.
Super cool small town. Close to lots things to do. I am sure when covid is done and many restaurants and small businesses are open again, we will return. Cantilever distillery and Hotel were truly a perfect stay. Great food, drinks, and accommodations.Guest review byCluck FamilyUnited States - 8.0

It was a closing chapter of my childhood so it was bittersweet. My mother is from the Falls and all of her family plus my grandma lived there. I spend almost every summer there. We would go from the Falls to Thunder Bay, Ontario to my other aunt's and family. My cousin's attended school there so we went to hockey games...The pep band Dirty Dozen...Bronco's everything. Alot of my mom's family worked at the mill...we had friend's in Fort Frances. Used to swim at the City Beach by Ranier...I don't know that we'll get back as most relatives are gone. With the border closed I couldn't stock up on my MacIntosh toffee. But the Coffee Landing was fabulous.Guest review byAvisUnited States
