- From $252.87 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 490 reviewsMy family and I had a spectacular stay at this hotel. Situated in the hills with a beautiful view of the calm Scottbrough ocean, which is ideal for swimming and surfing. The meals were scrumptious and cooked to perfection. The pool bar offered a large variety of drinks. It was so pleasant to swim in a freshly clean pool. The hotel offered miniature golf and a small playground for the children to burn their energy. There was even a pizza oven for freshly cooked pizzas. The rooms were capacious, with a private balcony, private bathroom, TV, ceiling fan, dressing table, cupboards and air conditioner. The also had a modern designed and fitted with smart technology like the LG smart television. The hotel staff always cleaned the rooms to their finest point. Reception always made a good effort to help me with whatever we needed. There is security parking there for R30 per day as December 2019. Guests have to use a security code to gain access to the public beach gate. With a high crime rate in South Africa The Blue Marlin ensures that their guests are under good surveillance. For those interested in scuba diving there is a scuba diving shop in which one can do their open water course. Divers get the privilege of diving at the famous Aliwal Shoal Reef which is one of the top ten diving spots in the world. I scuba dived with tiger sharks and dolphins. If you are lucky you can swim with humpback whales as the Indian Oceans warm tropical waters are perfect for humans to swim in. The beach itself is very pleasant. It is kept in clean condition. Offering the options of swimming in the ocean or tide pool. There are lifeguards on duty for all areas. There are rock pools only a short distance walk away where one can go snorkeling or fishing. I saw a fisherman catch a king fish and snorkeled with a turtle. I would definitely recommend The Blue Marlin Hotel as a holiday destination for anyone.Guest review byAlexanderQatar

Amanzimtoti is a gem on the KwaZulu-Natal coast—perfect for anyone looking to unwind while still having access to plenty of things to do. The beaches are absolutely beautiful: clean, family-friendly, and great for swimming or just relaxing. Watching the sunrise over the ocean is a must! There’s a good mix of restaurants, local shops, and malls nearby, making it easy to find what you need without traveling far. The area feels safe and has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. It’s also a convenient base for exploring Durban and surrounding areas, while still enjoying a quieter, more relaxed setting. Whether you're traveling as a couple, with family, or solo, Amanzimtoti has something to offer. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful seaside break with a local touch.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We liked everything about our stay...we could do with more activities for adults as well as kids...maybe a game room for kids...the Spa could have much more affordable rates...it was so expensive that nobody out of our 22 family members could afford it...apart from that the chalets were really good.Guest review byLutchmanna - 10.0

Port Shepstone is a friend tourist destination with friendly and well mannered residents. It had beautiful sceneries and places of interests to visit like Lake Eland, The Gorge, beaches, restaurants, night life etc.Guest review byLindelani NkomoSouth Africa - 8.0
We enjoyed exploring the town and the beach.
We enjoyed exploring the town and the beach. The cottage was just right for us but the narrow stairs were challenging. We used the upstairs 'verandah ' to make the most of the Seaview and the braai. Favorite place was the restaurant in the caravan park; ideal for breakfast and watching the whales. The take away fish and chips from the Corner Fish and Chips was the best value for money. Next time I will avoid staircases.Guest review byMaurelSouth Africa - 10.0

While we are not so young anymore, we have known Southbroom from days of old, when the road took us through Michael - on -Sea, Manaba Beach, etc. It caters well for all ages. So close to the Wild Coast, Crocodile Farm.Guest review byNtshangase - 4.0

HI I never stayed there we contacted the person in charge because we weren't happy to stay there as nobody was there to greet us and the cleaning lady wasn't very friendly and nobody else was on the property. We have requested to be reimbursed and was told it would be done a week after the reservation was done.Guest review byVenter - 10.0

The actual town is not of interest.
The actual town is not of interest. We tend to go to the Beach Cafe (which is run by the conservancy) which overlooks the sea. It is always spotless and the service is good - but its the location which makes it extra special. It is also pet friendly.Guest review bymariaSouth Africa - 4.0

Proper information should be clearly visible on the beach to warn holiday goers of the threat of E-Coli and that people may get sick. Uvongo to stay in is great as it is centrally located, but if you are a beach lover, rather go to any of the other beaches south of Ramsgate.Guest review byIzane MeijerSouth Africa
