United StatesThe reception from Christabel was very welcoming. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The electricity was intermittent (a problem all over Zambia due to Kariba Hydroelectric generation only being 10% capacity due to drought). David in the bar was very good at communicating and knowing I like a cool Castle beer, he had an ample supply in the fridge. The view across the lake is spectacular, seeing the fishermen in the morning. This is a classic Safari Lodge in the Old Style with billowing breezes in the evening and beautiful wood carvings throughout the property. Paintings and crafts by local artisans cover the walls of the public areas and each room. The entrance to Kafue National Park is 2 km away. Elephants , monkeys and Impala roam the property and there is a delightful harmony with nature. There is nothing ostentatious about the property, no TV's blaring, no loud music, nature does it all.
