We stayed at the French Garden resort for 5 nights. The location of this property is superb - literally just a few min walk from a really great beach, and a few min walk to the most central spot in Upuavelli. The room itself was OK but basic and a bit too small for us - we took the family room which had a double bed and 2 single beds, and there was not enough space for us. It has a nice balcony that we could use. The owner Eddie was great - he was super responsive and helped out with everything. The power went off a few times and they immediately took care of it. He also helped with bookings etc.

Exceptional It was a very nice stay. The staff of the hotel and restaurant made sure we felt at home. They were very helpful, kind and friendly. The hotel and the restaurant are located right on the beach, just a few meters to walk. In the evening you could have dinner right on the beach. They had western breakfast and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. It was good breakfast with local fruits and freshly squeezed juice. Special thanks to the Chef for vary tasty dishes for dinner.

Great location (so close to the beach, you can walk there with your swim suit on within 1 minutes), spacious rooms, king size beds, new ACc, good shower and excellent service. Great value for money and wonderful teamwork by the staff. The manager is very friendly and a man of integrity. We even prolonged our stay.
