Located in Luang Prabang, 6 km from Night Market, The Namkhan, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden. Featuring a shared lounge, the 4-star resort has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The accommodation offers a kids' club, room service and currency exchange for guests. Well managed resort, where employees at the reception, pool or restaurant seem to know you by name. Not sure how they do this, because we don't carry badges or post our photo somewhere. Very spacious accommodation with view on river and romantic and comfortable sleeping in tent with airco. Cosy warm LED lighting at night. Quiet at nights with only sounds of animals and no music, bars or traffic. Facilities are clean and of good quality. Free access to sauna and free use of mountain bikes. Very good breakfast and dinner with high quality organic food in restaurant with view on the river and very friendly and welcoming staff. Free shuttle to the center of Luang Prabang. We discovered this place by coincidence on a bike tour while staying at an other hotel and extended our stay in Luang Prabang to stay here. In hindsight, we would have preferred to stay here more nights if we had discovered it earlier.

Chateau Orientale Resort features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Luang Prabang. Offering a bar, the property is located within 15 km of Night Market. Guests can use the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views. Wow! Wow! WOW!!! This exceptional hotel is now one of my two favourites in the world. Where do I start... Grounds: From the moment you get out of the car, you'll realise you've arrived somewhere exceptional. You may even witness an elephant amble up the driveway if you arrive in the morning at about 7:30!!! There are large carved antique entranceways and open-sided buildings that create features along a meandering path through the grounds. At times, you wander across a pond, with stepping stones cleverly placed and dragonflies dancing between lotus blossoms. Location: the property sits perched high on the riverbank, looking out across a village, lush valley, and distant mountains. Butterflies are absolutely everywhere, and the only sounds are those of nature. Rooms: large, airy, and with comfortable beds, my twin room had its own large balcony overlooking the river. The bathroom had a bath with chrome feet, and the tapware/ basin was embossed brass. Carved antique wooden doors and wooden shutters completed the look. Facilities: When you walk into the main building, your jaw will be on the ground and your head swivelling from side to side. It's crammed full of antiques from India and is more like a gorgeous home than a hotel reception/ restaurant. Small turret-like rooms with pillows for sitting on make you feel like a princess. There's also an upstairs area (go up the spiral staircase), but you will probably stay glued to downstairs like we did, studying the detail of the decor, and watching elephants cross the river. Pool: overlooking the river, it may be smaller in size, but the pool is simply perfect. It is pretty, has shade where there is a swim up bar, and has seats built into the pool on the sunny side, for relaxing. Again, the decorations are unique (throwback to Germany), and there are shaded hidden spots for reading or watching the world flow by.

The resort design tells a story of cultural fusion and adventure, drawing inspiration from the history of French explorers in Laos and local tribes. This is reflected in the eclectic mix of design elements, from vintage travel trunks and antique furnishings to maps and other artifacts that make each accommodation distinctive, blending French colonial aesthetics with Laotian craftsmanship. All rooms come with free WiFi, while some villas have a private pool. Almost everything - superb staff, phenomenal room (Villa #3), excellent food, beautiful grounds

My Dream Resort is in a scenic and picturesque spot that left us stunned on arrival! The pool was lovely with towels always nearby. The resort also had food on site that was very nice as well as a fantastic breakfast in the mornings. The resort had a shuttle into the town which was continent as the location is a little far to walk as well as a free shuttle from the airport which was great!
Very happy to have choosed this resort. The best of our trip between Vietnam and Laos. The team is so nice : Nee, Grace & her sister and all the team are very nice and available. Enjoy, smile, very good foods, good services, comfort & friendliness will be the result of your booking, so take care themselves too. The resort is very comfortable, typical with a good localisation (Mekong). I recommend a lot, really. Thank you all the team for your very good work.
Very quiet resort near the historical center. You will wake seeing big palm trees and hearing all birds from the countryside. But the most impressive is the people there. Allways in great mood for helping you with everything.
The resort is an amazing place and the staff are incredible! They took such good care of us, and the food was delicious! It’s a super cozy place!
The location of the resort with direct frontage to the Mekong is superb. Henry the owner and the staff are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was good. The way Henry has utilized traditional houses and fitted them out with all the modern conveniences adds to the ambiance of the fantastic location. They are adding a pool which was almost completed when we left.
Just heavenly. We have never been to a place that you already miss by the thought of leaving the next day. The staff Moa, Grace, Choy, Nee, Henri, India and all the others members are just incredible sweet, relaxed, intrested and always on point and ready to help. The resort is stunning and magical. Breakfast and dinner are even more then you whish for. You may never want to leave.
Resort style, feels very high end, nice staff who are attentive and helpful, gorgeous rooms and pool. Food is very good, cocktails superb.
It was not your typical resort brick building. It was surrounded by nature. Staff was super nice and we had free shuttle into the city center. Food was also delicious. An oasis of peace.
Its laid back atmosphere is in keeping with the spirit of Lao. The location on the river with a stunning view of the sunset over the mountains is truly rare. The staff are super warm and treat everyone like special family. Henry, the owner is warm, caring, and ready with either great ideas on what to do or to talk about anything. You will meet interesting fellow voyagers who are experiencing the special effects that Laos offers to someone ready to leave the trodden path. The old wood used to build the resort takes you on a trip back in time.
