Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Canada- The cleanliness was a major issue, especially in the kitchen, which I found disgusting. - There was only one toilet and one shower, which was a bit inconvenient for everyone.
- The vibe of the place was really warm and welcoming. - I liked the common area; it was nice to hang out in. - The dorm was spacious, with plenty of room.

NetherlandsI have been multiple times to hostel Patagonia while traveling because I really like the place, it's cozy and the facilities are nice. The price is really good and the owner works hard to make it a nice stay for every guest, he drove me by himself to the airport. The living room/kitchen is quite big, clean and often full with guest to have some nice conversations with.

CanadaThe employee was thinking of selling my room when I told him I had no idea if I would be able to arrive during the night. Even though i am travelling a very short time in the country I was still charged the high VAT tax. Also the dorm rooms are very over-priced!!! Plus I only stayed 4 hours. Rates should be no more than $8-10 max
Employee helped with my check-in as the ferry to transport our bus was delayed by 6 hours due to high waves.

CanadaI didn’t get what I thought I booked for. I booked for a room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, but got 4 single beds (2 bunk beds), and it was supposed to have a private bathroom. so I’m not sure what happened there, but it was clean and the people were nice.

Spainyou rather stay at someone’s house (rooms in the second floor) than in a hostel. that is authentic, but not really what you expect.

CanadaRoom was a little tight on space with two other people in it, but it worked.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely a laid-back, backpacker vibes place. SUPER comfortable bed—probably the best two nights I've slept this trip.

GermanyDescription (ex. executive lounge access with...) doesn't match reality. We didn't even get the room booked. Hostel very old and not maintained (mushroom growing behind the toilet in the private bathroom, windows not closing, hole under the shower structure). Kitchen utensils should be replaced with new ones. Cleanliness needs defintely improvement. Payment unclear (VAT or not for foreigners, commission). Access from a back door only, property looks abandoned/messy when you enter.
The common area is spacious with big tables. Wifi works well. Position not bad for visiting Punta Arenas. Employees and volunteers are nice.

GermanyUnfortunately, we read the reviews of this place too late: The owner proved to be everything a lot of people already critizised about him. When we arrived, cold and wet from the harsh weather, he claimed that the room, we offically booked and got confirmed by booking, doesnt exist in that version and that we had to cancel the booking and get two other !!more expensive!! beds instead. It was very obvious that he wanted to avoid the booking.com fee. When we tried to understand and solve the problem, his mood changed quickly and he raised his voice. Due to the bad weather and the late time of the day we didnt want to have to look for another place that night. But we felt very uncomfortable. Wouldnt recommend that place at all, not even for one night.
The kitchen area is quite alright and has most of the necessary stuff.

CanadaWorst Hostel experience ever, do not stay here! 1. The owner is horrible. He watches TV in a room next to the dorm until very late at night, very thin walls, he talks very loudly while people are trying to sleep. Total disregard for his guests. 2. It gets much worse: I was verbally attacked and insulted by the owner. He stormed into our room at midnight with his flashlight in my eyes demanding that I get out of bed and go to the bank to get cash to pay immediately. When I arrived and checked-in to the hostel he made absolutely no mention that I still had to make a payment so I figured my card was already charged. (Too many bookings to keep track of, sometimes the card gets charged, sometimes you pay at the location) I insisted that I’m happy to pay in the morning and asked why he didn’t say anything about this for the past 2 days and waited till midnight to wake me up about it. I’m trying to sleep. He proceeded to insult and yell at me in Spanish. He lost track of his bookings and was accusing me of trying to sneak away without paying which is completely false. After I paid he continued to insult me and threatened me that he will kick me out onto the street in the middle of the night. He told me to shut up and pointed his finger in my face many times, another guest had to calm him down. I felt very uncomfortable and barely slept all night. Also he was still being noisy after this incident and continued to insult me from the hallway. Unbelievable. 3. Also I slept right next to a window with a broken frame, it was cold at night and on a busy loud street. And the owner said he worked in construction and insolation. Then fix the window!
The 2 volunteers working there were very nice and cool but the owner is horrible

United Kingdom1. Grumpy owner/check-in manager 2. Chaotic bed allocation errors - for the the second night he had moved my bedding to a different bed (!) - without telling me (!) - so i then reinhabited my original bed (thinking it had inexplicably been remade) and a new guest then had problems finding their bed! 3. Free coffee was advertised but unavailabke the first morning 4. The owner's very noisy and disruptive young child is resident, disturbing the peace and accosting guests.

United StatesThe location is close to the downtown so many things are within walking distance. The owner was very nice. We told Christian our Magdalena island trip for the next morning was cancelled due to weather. He contacted the tour operator in the last minute to help us reschedule and drove us to the harbor so we made it to the afternoon trip of the day (and had a great time). Really appreciate his help!

United KingdomThe rooms could do with a bit more to help guests - some plug sockets, hooks for towels, and larger lockers or somewhere to put your things. Bunk beds are a bit wobbly. There might be better options if the budget can stretch.
It's a fairly basic hostel with a well stocked kitchen and decent WiFi. Showers are hot. Staff are a bit hit and miss.

Bulgaria- The place is dirty. - when you arrive the owner will tell you you need to pay extra 12-15 dollars on top of the price in Booking for unclear reasons. He will offer to cancel your stay and then you can pay the price listed in booking. - somehow the whole place is like a wooden shed which means you can hear every single noise - Only cash payments
- there is a common kitchen where you can cook -wifi works well
