Worth a visit to enjoy the castle which has easy (if hilly) access to the stunning old town.

Toiletries in the room were not replaced - there was never any conditioner in the bottle and even though we left the lid off, it was simply replaced. We ran out of toilet paper as a fresh roll was not provided.

The hotel is spectacular as it has retained its original character and feel of a castle. The preservation of the original features lent a magical atmosphere to our stay. Breakfast and dinner were served in a spectacular room that was a clever blend of modern and original decor. Whilst the dinner options did not change over the three nights we were there, there was plenty of choice and we both enjoyed every dish provided. Staff are courteous, friendly, and welcoming. I would particularly like to recommend the staff on the desk as being approachable, professional, engaging and having a sense of humour; it made our interactions fun and stress free.

I was not able to take a tour of the parts of the castle that was not able to be seen. I felt like this should be complimentary. Also the interior I feel should be backdated. It was too modern.

It was a beautiful old castle on top of a mountain.

This is a criticism of the modernization of castles that I wish they didn't do to the degree that you often see in castle hotels, that they have incorporated modern building methods using drywall. I just prefer that a castle be it's original stone and mortar walls for as much as possible

The dinner and breakfast were great, very tasty. I love the dining area with it's cavernous arches, really a great environment to appreciate being in a castle

Disappointing that the Reception Personnel did not recognise we are "Freinds of the Paradors" - Also part of the Castle is currently under renovation/maintenance so there was some limited access.

After a very hot a tiring journey received a very warm and freindly 5* welcome to the medieval Castle and our stay at the Fortress - a totally unique experience in the mountains with an exceptional view of Cardona, the Pyrenees across the Catalonian landscape. All the Castle personel made you feel special and cared for being at your disposal - particularly "Speedy Gonzales" and his side kick "Mini the Minx" at the Bar/Cafe both of whom were entertaining and extremely helpful! Being lactose intorerant my wife upon arrival at the Restaurant 1000hrs the appointed breakfast personnel was served a special breakfast certainly made her feel like a princess!

Our room had steps to get to it and there were no porters to help with luggage. we asked at the front desk and the man there was very rude. He was the only rude person we encountered. Also, the kitchen didnt open til 8 pm which was a bit late--after a long day of sightseeing we were hungry and would have liked even a snack.

Most of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel/castle was gorgeous and so interesting. The breakfast was very good and the bar was comfortable with really cold beer. The patio was lovely in the evening

Shower/Tub were extremely slippery and dangerous for us, as we are both in our 70’s. No anti-slip mats or handrails to aid in stability and entering/exiting the tub and shower. Very treacherous. Also, our Room, 203, the shower made sudden and extreme noise from the tub jets while in use. Very loud.

Location was excellent. Loved the history of this location and it’s preservation of its role in the history of the region.

The bar had only one guy running it plus preparing bar food/snacks. He was ridiculously busy and could have done with some help. More often than not, very few items on the bar menu were available, presumably because he was on his own and simply couldn't manage it all. He needs help, ideally someone doing the menu items and him running the bar.

Absolutely gorgeous location. Beautiful castle, tastefully and fittingly adapted to a hotel. Rooms are fantastic, spacious, spotless. Restaurant was amazing, looks like it may have been the 'great hall' in previous times. All in all an exceptional place.

The dinner meal included an overpriced pasta dish of slightly warm pasta , three tasty prawns and little taste in overall meal . The other meal of cod fillet was large and excellent.

Great views . The outside bar overlooking the tower was a gem !

This is a spectacular parador in a beautiful location in Cardona. Our rooms were well appointed with everything we needed. Staff were lovely, check-in smooth. There are 2 car parks, an upper and a lower one, there is no charge for these. Because of the location there isn’t a lot of parks and it is tight but okay. We had breakfast and dinner here ( I am Coeliac, and they cater really well for me. Overall it was a lovely stay.

WE are used to having our bedroom very cool at night and the castle just has two temperatures - warm for winter and cool for summer. It was still in warm mode when we were there. However, that was was a minor inconvenience considering the rest of the room appointmnets - comfortable bed, great sheets and lovely bathroom.

A unique experience, staying in a castle which was completely modernized in terms of the rooms, yet still retaining its ancient architecture and charm. The dining room where we had a delicioous breakfast was beautiful. Staff were friendly.

The Parador is extremely beautiful inside and out. The rooms are well appointed, and very comfortable. The staff go out of their way to make sure your enjoy your stay. We ate in the restaurant breakfast and dinner on both nights of our stay. I am Coeliac and the staff were very knowledgeable of food allergies, and gave me all the help I needed to choose the best dishes for me. We had a wonderful stay.

Staff should label the entrance to guest parking more clearly. We drove around twice and walked up a steep hill unnecessarily.

Arrival was confusing and assistance with luggage up the steep hill was much appreciated. A ride up for two or three of the group using canes/ walkers/scooter would have been really helpful. Very stressful for these folks on slippery and steep cobblestone. I realize you do not claim to be accessible- however this was quite challenging and thankfully, no one was injured. The group handled the inside stairs where necessary without a problem. Those staying in the suites needed clear instructions about access, stairs, and keys. On checking out, we were offered no assistance with luggage. We would have appreciated that. The person was alone at the desk but help showed up within a few minutes but no one offered to roll bags down for our less able guests. As a result some men made multiple trips.

Incredible views and a very excellent preservation of the old with modern furnishings. A unique experience ! Our accessible room was fantastic!
