Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The room was looking the street and it was really noisy at the early hours of the morning. The bed was not really clean when we arrived.
The location was great. Near a major train station with metro connections and near to really good restaurants

There was some noise because of the washing and drying machine so close. However, the staff was able to sort it out for me.

Their WiFi system is weak and antiquated. Needs a serious upgrade. Just not up to 2010 standards never mind 2022. A lot of hallway noise in the middle of the night.
Friendly staff, very helpful. Close to a variety of shopping and restaurants.

1) Not allowed to store luggage before or after check out 2) STRICT 3pm check in time no matter how early you arrive 3) Woman who owns hotel, cleans hotel, is at reception 24/7 is quite rude and unpleasant. I would say it’s from her lack of social life and rest as she is there literally 24 hours of the day. 4) There is only one plug in the bedroom for charging phones etc. 5) The bathroom is so tiny that you can only open one of the shower doors (the other is blocked by toilet). 6) While the room looked very clean, I noticed a lot of dust on my clothes after dropping it on the bedroom floor. 7) Weird policy of having to give your key to woman when leaving hotel. Also there is only one key per room.
The location is fantastic - everything is 10 mins away on the metro. Very close to galaries lafayette and palais garnier. The room is nice and bright. Surprisingly looks better than what’s advertised on the photos. The price for the location is brilliant considering most others at this price is 45 mins away. The metro is 2 mins walk from hotel.

This is a motel, Super 8 level place to stay, at four-star prices. Should cost half of what they charge. But at least the pictures are honest so you know what you're signing up for, unlike Folkestone Opera Hotel.

Very friendly Staff. They saved us with free spacer after we had issues with another hotel as apparently they were oberbooked and oi supposed to get info they are full but I never received any info until I was in hotel.

The room was super super small! I couldn't fit what was said it could fit. The elevator couldn't fit anyone in there. We had to turn our keys to the front desk everyday before leaving the property, we got yelled at for this. There was no hot water. I felt like I was in a horrible dormitory from the 80's!

Nothing. Air conditioning much appreciated, comfortable beds for an air-travel-weary traveller. Nice shower and towels, everything provided.
On the same level as the concourse for SNCF at Gare St Lazare and the trains to Normandie. A nice little bolt hole for a couple of days stay in Paris. Lovely staff who took my bags up to the first floor to my room. From there there is a lift to higher floors.

The Wi-Fi was very bad, and they usually turned off the Internet at night. Before you make a reservation, you have to make sure if there is an air conditioner; otherwise, they're not going to provide it when you go there

unfortunately the air con wasn’t working and it was 39°C so it was unbearably hot in the room and we were on the top floor too

The only issue was the smell from the kitchen of somewhere that meant that if the window to the light well was opened the room filled with a smokey smell until the restaurant closed.
The young lady at reception is a star. She made all the difference and is an absolute credit to you. The ratings reflect her professionalism and care to us as the client. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable.

The shower need repairs, the bed is not really comfortable and you could hear whatever happened in the next room.
The location is perfect and the staff was lovely.

It wasn't clear that we had to pay extra for breakfast every morning and was told when we arrived. We thought it was included included in the price. But it wasn't a big deal :)
It was a food place to just rest, shower and chill after a long day and sleep peacefully w/o noise.
