Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Air conditioner was pretty noisy Safe didn't work My partner noticed cockroach at the bathroom, during the night.
Location was great, stuff was friendly and nice, rooms were clean, and maintained well. I didn't understand people complaining about the staff.

There was a strong wet carpet smell, that was not pleasing to walk into everyday. Breakfast was also quite underwhelming.
The location is amazing. The surrounding area is vibes with many restaurants, bakeries, bars and cafes.

If I had known they charge €40.00 to hold my small bag until I can check in, because I arrive too early in Paris, I would have chosen another hotel.

Our room was very small with a loud AC unit. The bathroom was tiny. We had no windows which made the room quite dark. The elevator could only fit 2 people at a time.
The location was great and easy to access transport.

It was good to have at least kettle or coffee machine, no Fan in the toilet to remove smell and moist.
The location was great, close to many shops and restaurants and metro statioms. Our room has fridge and AC.

The room didn’t look like the one we booked. The windows were dirty and it seemed that the bathroom floor wasn’t that clean. The shower was very small and the water went everywhere even if you tried to not splash out. The mini fridge was brocken, which we didn’t know and out food went bad overnight because it overheated. No tea or small kettle in the room either. One of the beds was a kids bed, but the room was a twin so you would expect a normal bed.
Hotel was in a good location. Staff was ok and they were kind enough to keep our suitcases after the checkout.

Size of room is so tiny . Hardly any space at all . The rest is fine .

Room was clean, compact, but to be expected in Paris! Location was super convenient to get bus of metro to various parts of the city. Aircon was working which was fab considering the temp was over 30 degrees each day and bonus could see the sacre coeur out of our little balcony window!

There was the smell of sewage in the room which dissipated once the air con went on. It was not to strong but got your attention, I thought my wife had dropped one at first...
Convenient location and price point was one of the reasons we booked. The room was fine, bed was comfortable and the air con worked well. Staff seemed friendly enough. Some bars outside but this didn't seem to cause noise issues.

Ac made a hissing noise. The noise continued even after turning off a/c. Worried if it was compressor leak. We have to deposit key everyone we left. We it the do not disturb sign card on the door handle, yet, our room was opened and cleaned when we returned. The wash basin placement very poor.
Location was good. Bed was comfortable. Had extra pillows.

Going home 🤣. Wish we could have stayed longer (But work commitments meant it was only a short break. )
Great location in Paris, near the Folie Bergere, short walk from the Metro, short taxit from Gare du Nord. (Eurostar) . Comfy bed, clean, good breakfast (once you get used to egg cooker 🤣) lift, everything you could ask for.

Having to leave key behind every time I go out. Cleaners would knock and ask for service even when the Do not disturb sign is on. Even if breakfast was advertised, was told on arrival that it was not in my package.
