Heating took some time to kick in but staff sorted it as soon as we brought it to their attention. Was the coldest weekend we had had for a long time.

Having blanket options instead of just a quilt would have been good. Didn't have a lift so had to lug our suitcases up several floors to our room which wasn't a problem for us.

The room had plenty of space with the bed and bathroom facilities good. Also had tea and coffee making facilities but no fridge or mini bar which wasn't a problem for us. It was located in a good area and only a short walk from the city centre. Had a lovely pub restaurant area on ground floor.

Our room was above the bar, and was very noisy. We will ask for a room on a higher level next time. Also the bed and the pillows were too hard for us.

Couldn’t get a car park space in the car park had to park on street. Location of bathroom sink & mirror a bit odd but bathroom was a bit small and it was cold despite towel heater on.

Have stayed a few times and usually okay. However this time we stayed in room 18 and the boiler kicking in and clonking was too noisy to sleep. It was quickly rectified as the night porter gave us another room.. I think they need to look into this though.

Lovely large room. Nice decor. Clean smart bathroom. Great area, nice pub downstairs. Handy for Cardiff, nice walk through the park. Location near the Pontcanna area with craft fair. Local shops.

Free Wi-Fi kept dropping out. Slightly annoying when trying to work and having to log back in.

Nice friendly staff, comfortable bed and updated bathrooms and shower were perfect. Breakfast was good and evening meal was delicious. Never a bad experience in this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay. However some attention to detail in rooms would enhance the stay. For example, a few marks on bedding (though it was clean), and some paint scuffed on walls and radiator.

The pillows!!! I know people have different preferences so it wasn’t something to complain about. But both my husband and I felt one wasn’t enough and two were too many. Also rather lumpy. So not the best night’s sleep and I wished I’d brought my own.

Great staff. We had a warm and friendly welcome. The immediate look of the place was very favourable. The fittings and furnishings in the room were high quality.

Only thing we’d say is that due to being situated above the pub - it does get a little loud in the evening time (we were ok with this, but just commenting for those who want a peaceful night’s sleep) There’s not much else not to like - wonderful place, banging breakfast, cosy & comfortable room and close to centre of town. Definitely will return on the future

Even though situated away from the centre of town, it didn’t take too long for us to walk there (lovely walk through the gardens too) Loved that we could have breakfast downstairs (amazing value and staff were so friendly and welcoming) the bacon for us was the superstar! Bathroom was clean and modern and bedroom was comfortable size.
