How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

No negatives to give. If I was really pushing to find something I would say not all the breakfast was piping hot but it was hot and edible and very tasty with plenty of choice.
Room was clean well kept as was the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was an extra option paid for on a daily basis in the pub and also open to the public. Location was walking distance to city centre and our event in the Sport Centre. Sophia gardens a great place for a stroll or a morning run.

Walls were quite thin so it could be a little loud but this wasn’t really an issue for me as I wear ear defenders anyway when I sleep
highly recommend this hotel! Great location and friendly staff. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. I normally find hotel wifi slow but the wifi was great! I parked on site and felt my car was safe. There are very little car parking spots however there were always a few available during my stay. I will definitely be staying again and recommending to friends :)

Room was cold, only the bathroom radiator was working. Breakfast, though tasty, was cold. This I’m sure was mostly the fact it was served on really cold plates. Also didn’t like the toast being served un buttered on top of your breakfast, with no side plate!!! Really???

There was a continuous loud humming noise from the large ventilation pipe outside, it did go off late at night, but then started up again early in the morning.. Breakfast was good but the mushroom and tomato was not cooked?
Location and room, very good. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Second time we have stayed 😁 we liked the room and the fact that it has an onsite pub is a bonus👍we ate supper and breakfast here and it was delicious 😋 Alll the staff are great and very welcoming.

Location to Cardiff City Centre was excellent, all the staff were helpful, polite and happy. We would definitely recommend and book again if we were to go to Cardiff again.

A little bit of noise from the pub downstairs / landing so doors not that soundproof. Otherwise excellent.
Check in was easy with a friendly member of the team. Room was clean, and comfy. Bed and pillows excellent. Bathroom decent size, great shower and nice towels. Tea and coffee facilities as expected with a small but useful desk. Parking right outside for free. Location for walking into town through the park is great. All in all good value for money.

The noise outside. Very noisy with traffic late at night and very early in the morning every day. Beds were ok but could be more comfortable.
The room and facilities were great. Location was fantastic too and staff were friendly and helpful.

Parking was too small.Had to park on the street and they closed the parking too early..and it only opens at 8am..no room for an early morning drive for me..

The property was fantastic, rooms were modern, big and clean. We stopped in the bar on the night time and the service was great along with the food and drinks. The location was ideal for the purpose of the trip...all in all a great experience

The decor in the bedroom was very dated, paint peeling, and the ceiling was damaged.
The location was perfect, and the bathroom was lovely, very large with a beautiful walk in shower.
