Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe room was a bit hot and we couldn't turn down the heating. We opened the window and that worked a bit for us. The bed was very comfortable but the quilt was a bit bulky so we did have a warm night.
Check in was very efficient, just registered my car for parking (free) and we were in. Short walk to the room which was very good, just what we wanted after a long drive. Went to the bar and had a very nice meal The bar manager was excellent and Amber came by later to serve us and chat. She was very nice and made the stay much more enjoyable.

United KingdomInitial room more like a cell and very stuffy, not used in a while or aired I'd say, changed room with ease so that was good but I had the feeling they already knew as customer in front had also just changed room.... Did I get that room.... Room booked not availble when checking in which added to thought I'd been dealt a bad hand. Rooms very dated and no air con, hot day with heating constantly on, small windows so not a great night. Overall if I had chance/options I'd have changed hotel.
Restaurant & Bar staff great. Good location.

United KingdomRather tired looking. I had requested a step in shower but the room I was given had a shower over the bath. Give them fair dues I rang down and they were able to relocate me. However the new room was like a sauna (no air conditioning) even with windows open. Shower room radiator wouldn’t turn down, but not as bad with the door shut. Had to ask for a fan (1st room already had one) which did help. Pillows were all rather soft - an optional firm one would be nice.
Its situation was perfect as going further south the next day and this got me onto the Humber Bridge easily. Size of room was adequate. Bed was very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities fine. Chilled water machine in the corridor. Love the economy use of the keycard.

United KingdomOur room was very cold and was next to a laundry room where a man kept walking back and forth past our window pushing heavy loads that rumbled noisily along. It was directly outside the window so our privacy was compromised. We had to close the curtains as we wanted to have a lie down after our long journey but couldn't get any peace. The room was along a dingy downstairs corridor that was smelly, there was paint off the ceiling and splashes of dirt on the radiators and the bathroom smelt of urine.
The communal areas of the hotel were lovely as was the breakfast and staff.

United KingdomStaff numbers must be tight so reception is not manned that much. The hotel entrance is all fine but as you progress deeper into the building the state of the carpets and corridor maintenance can easily be improved. We were in room 32 so down in the depths a bit. The corridor store room doors are battered and in need of a coat of paint, the carpets need an industrial clean and/or replacing, quick fixes which would bring the standards up. Similar story in the room, some nice touches but then marks to the plaster on the walls on the edges, bathroom ceiling paint peeling off, worn carpet areas in the corners. Easily remedied though, just employ a person to bring the main areas and rooms up to scratch a bit and you could easily charge more. Bit of filler, coat of paint and a carpet cleaner - job done. Breakfast as well, for £15 the quality of ingredients needs to be stepped up a bit. Poor quality sausages are a sign of corner cutting to the detriment of the overall offering. It's a big site and obviously cash is tight but a bit of targeted investment would increase revenues.
Stayed here before when it was the Hallmark hotel, now it's privately owned and operated using the Best Western branding. So the fundamentals remain in place and it's not bad but it could be improved and fairly easily as well.
