Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Water pressure in the shower was very low, but that's to be expected in a Victorian beachside building.
Paul and Laurie made us feel more like we were friends staying over than strangers in a hotel. The breakfasts were outstanding for both vegans and carnivores, and their restaurant recommendations for dinner were always spot-on.

This is a family business, with genuine intent to provide the best stay in their care. They provide local knowledge of interesting sites from their personal experience. They run their homelike establishment as a support of your complete satisfaction. Nonfuss or bother just friendly provision with exceptional organisation. They set the bar so very high for guest house and hotels standards.They are good people able to provide honest comfort and security.. Exceptional hygiene and house cleanliness was seen. Full marks.

Lot of smell of cooking in the morning. 2 single beds are not very comfortable, too soft compared to the main queen bed.
Along with family very comfortably & memorable 2 days stay. Hosts: Words are very little to describe the kindness, warmth & hospitality received from Laurie & Paul. They give you all the family stay feeling. Facility: Beautiful, cozy, nice & clean family room. All required facilities are provided by owners. Excellent breakfast options. Location: Just get out, cross the road hit the beach & promenade super easy. Lots of good restaurants around and Co-op around the guest house. On the road all day free parking.

Having to come home needed a longer stay.
Laurie and Paul are complete professionals with a warm and welcoming demeanor. They were fantastic hosts nothing was any trouble for them. The room was more than what we expected impeccably clean and well maintained. The location is wonderful as you get fantastic views and you are away from all the excess noise making it a lovely and relaxing spot. Breakfast was very well organised with a selection of cereal and pastries ready on your table the cooking is absolutely fantastic using top quality locally sourced ingredients, Laurie and paul can tell you exactly where everything is from and we love that. Only downside was the small size of the shower room/toilet.
Lovely sea view, good size room & nicely decorated & very clean. Plenty of tea/coffee etc. Breakfast was good-well presented & good variety. Hosts were very friendly & welcoming & remembered us by name. Would think of returning.

Beautiful room, making the most of the sea view. Bathroom small but modern and perfectly formed. Although the hotel is on a main road, the glazing cuts out most of the noise. Breakfast was superb, especially the eggs Royale. Despite the proprietors having to contend with plumbers changing the boiler, Laurie and Paul did everything to ensure we were not inconvenienced.
