Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

If I had to be critical, a small bottle of water in the room would have been nice and the showers could do with a shower head with better pressure. But nothing major that ruins your stay.
Perfect stay for a long weekend. You have just what you need and the staff are lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was good, bedroom was cosy and big, overall Inn has a cosy feel. Location wise it's perfectly close to the local shops available and the castle. I would stay again!

Fantastic friendly welcoming pub. Good beer, great evening meal, lovely breakfast. Good size nicely decorated room.Great location when traveling on M5 and need a break. Will use again.

We were in room 9. YOU CANNOT REGULATE THE WATER FOR THE SHOWER it was OK to the bath but the shower was either freezing cold or boiling hot making it difficult to shower and wash hair

Old fashioned b and b style. Quite pricey for what it is. Bed quite soft.
Simple, clean, everything you needed in the room. Nice and helpful staff. Good location in Berkeley. Fine for its purpose, one night stay for an event.

Shower fiddly and took a long time to get the temperature right, also had to stand close to the end of the bath. Only two tea bags supplied.

I had a lovely stay at The Malt House, when visiting for a wedding at Berkeley Castle. It's a great location for walking to the castle. I had a very generously sized room and the most delicious breakfast! Although the hotel and location were great my absolute favourite thing was the staff - everyone was so kind, warm and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a good stay and made me feel so comfortable while staying by myself.

I felt the rooms need a little tlc, our main bedroom was big enough but not superior as it was listed as, esp as we went for the bigger option. The bathroom was tired and needed an overall with attention to the shower and bath area. The toilet roll was in a container that was locked, not something I wanted to see when in a hotel. Felt like I was in a shopping centre cubicle without the bath! The room was also a bit dark, the lighting had to on even when it was a bright day
Really friendly welcome, staff and the food was amazing. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The location for explore this last of Gloucester was spot on, easy to get around. I would recommend this hotel as a short break if exploring the surrounding area.

Shower was quite slow to warm up. But really not that much of a problem. Breakfast stopped serving at 8.30am.
Good location. For breakfast i had a Full English which was excellent. Rooms where a decent size clean modern decor. Bathroom was clean.

If I had to pick anything, it would be the shower head in room 4. The pressure is low and provides such a fine jet that it takes ages to have a good shower. It needs a bit of umph.
Nice and quiet, easy to chill after a days work. Bar is good and the menus provide enough choice for everyone. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful

Room was a little dated. No window as such, half glazed door was only natural light but that is probably because of the limitations of the building. Bathroom needed a deep clean.
Staff, manager made our stay. Very lively and friendly. She happened to be serving at dinner time which was a treat. Helpful with suggestions for Slimming World friendly options at dinner time and emailed menu in advance. Lots of choice for dinner, down to earth, generous portions and good value. Bed was comfortable. Lovely to have a bath, plenty of hot water. Plenty of parking. Very convenient for Berkeley Castle and walking around the village.
