Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBreakfast was excellent; they found a place to securely lock our bikes overnight (even though there are some Sheffield cycle stands outside); the evening meal was exceptional, wine choice great and beer very drinkable :-)

GermanyWe had to move rooms after our first night which was a bit inconvenient. We only found out that this was necessary after we had made the booking. The staff moved our things for us and both rooms were very nice. However, it would have been good to know that they needed to move us at the time of booking.
Beautiful building in lovely gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomTop floor was a little warm (July) with small window. A sheet beneath the duvet would have given us the option for fewer layers and a more comfortable sleep on a summer's night. Will try to remember to request next time. :)
Great location for walking in the Dales. Comfortable beds, good breakfast. Very welcoming of our dog. Nice lounge area for evenings.

United KingdomNothing to mention- a perfect hotel!
Incredible accommodation! One of the few hotels left in this country where English traditions meets modern demands! The Traddock is not one of those many ‘modernised’ English hotels which look as the same interior designer had designed them in order to give them a ‘modern look’ - it still has its English charm and style. The rooms were stylish, super clean, perfectly equipped with all the ‘extras’ you wish for…- and on top of it an amazing dinner!!

United KingdomThere seemed to be a lot of door slamming as the property settled for the night but thankfully this did not continue during the night and did not detract from how much we loved our stay. This was, after all, caused by other guests.
We stayed in a beautiful, spacious room. There was so much attention to detail and everything felt luxurious, even down to full size Mokton Brown toiletries for the comfort and convenience of guests. Our waiter for our evening meal was very attentive and very charming. There was a very charming sitting room with an open fire and candles. The fire and candles were also lit at breakfast time which felt very welcoming and luxurious. The food was also excellent.

United KingdomGosh THE FOOD - we arrived at 13:20 there was mention in the booking to pre book the dinner but no mention about lunch - there was only one couple in the dining area - I approached the reception who just said NO to any lunch because it was not prearranged - she went to ask the chef and said no bearing in mind this was Sunday lunch time and in the middle of no where and its a five star hotel - we can only make you some sandwiches - we were so gutted so we drove around in the pouring rain and eventually found a place called the Knights table which was exceptional , lucky for us everywhere was fully booked except our hotel which was literally empty ( no wonder right ?) any way the next morning we had booked for breakfast at 8 am again the only ones there and the breakfast was dreadful - full english the bacon was rock solid and dripping in oil as well as the sausage was hard and tasteless , it was more gross then a greasy spoon . I could not believe that the hotel chef was so useless gosh and or the management -please sort the food out its such a shame its messing up what would otherwise be a stunning hotel romantic stay
The place is stunning with great location - the room is absolutely beautiful with cosy corners to relax in - the room was like a whole flat - the bathroom was especially great with strong shower -the bed is really comfy and quiet

United KingdomThe choice of evening meal and the menu doesn’t explain fully what you are getting. The bed was way too soft and the mattress kept tipping.

United KingdomIt had been a few years since we last visited the Traddock. We were not disappointed and it was a real pleasure to be back. It had the same country house feel with pleasant and helpful staff, excellent food and delightful accommodation. The hotel is well located in a pretty village set in wonderful countryside on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. We will not leave it so long before we return.

United KingdomOur room was on the smaller size compared to some of the photos of other rooms but it was fine for 2 adults and a dog!
We enjoyed the food , we were made welcome and our dog was welcome in all spaces other than the restaurant (bar area was fine for Us) our room was nice and cosy and the drawing room with open fire was relaxing on a cold winter day after walking, we will be returning.
