Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo WiFi in the bedrooms and the restaurant and bar closed too early. Staff were not particularly helpful or friendly.

United StatesThe room was very hot and not able to cool down with the one fan. The room needs additional fans so that the guests can sleep comfortably. It was very difficult to sleep without stronger fans.
The location, cleanliness and amenities were wonderful.

United StatesNo issues at all, but be mindful that you're in the middle of a jungle... you likely won't have cell service and wifi is only in the public spaces (but great near the front desk and by the pool). Also, you are in a National Park and power is limited at night.
If you're visiting Tikal, stay here! There are shuttles from to the hotel from the Flores airport, you just need to contact (email/whatsapp) the hotel to schedule. We enjoyed our hotel room, the restaurant (very convenient), and staying in the Jungle is a fun experience! We saw so many animals onsite including monkeys (with babies), a fox, macaws, and many other birds. The pool is delightful on hot afternoons after (or before) visiting Tikal! Our room had two double beds, attached bathroom with a shower, mosquito netting, and screens on all of the windows. It was cool at night and with the fan on, we were very comfortable. Finally, if you have any small animal visitors (lizards, etc.), contact the front desk and they'll move them for you (thanks to the staff for their help)! The front desk will help you arrange tours of Tikal and gave us transportation recommendations. You will need to buy the tickets to Tikal, and we just did this online and took screenshots to show the park officials. The entrance to Tikal is right outside the driveway to the hotel. What a fun experience!

United KingdomThe pool area needs a bit of updating and the service at the pool was sporadic. Check in can sometimes take a while. The film was good in the evening but would be good to include more films e.g. wildlife in the park.
The location! So nice to be able to walk back to the lodge after a day in the park. Rooms were lovely with monkeys swinging around outside the balconies. Restaurant food was good and service quick. Nice to have a separate bar. The shuttle back to the airport was good value.

United StatesOver priced. We paid $415 for one night in their master suite. The room was fine and AC worked. The water in the jacuzzi smelled like wet dog and the water from the shower also smelled bad. I would have been ok with all of this at a price point of $200-$250. Breakfast not even included for $415
Location was fantastic. Right inside the Tikal grounds. Air conditioning was good. WiFi strong. Food and cocktails at the restaurant were good. Staff was helpful with setting up a private tour of Tikal.

SloveniaPool needs renovating. The drink price was not nice, the hotel is connected via road to town, it can deliver water easy, no need to mark up the price of every drink so much... I would like that to be in the room price, not the drinks, it is hot jungle enviromnet, and it is not a nice...
Tikal is 10/10 location, amazing, you can easy spend multiple days there. The hotel is nice, clean and has a cool setup. Amazing nature and scenes to see.

CanadaThe pool could have been cleaner.and more chaise lounges are needed on the pool deck.
The location was wonderful. You felt away from it all in the heart of the jungle. After the electricity went off at night, the darkness was intense, allowing the jungle sounds to be dominant.. The restaurant was good and the service was quick. The bungalows were clean and comfortable. The location close to the Tikal ruins was a real plus.

United KingdomThe location of the hotel is fantastic as it is right next to the Tikal Park entrance. Food at the restaurant is amazing with a great selection of foods both native options and international and super tasty. Beds super comfy and the overall vibe of the place is fantastic and so unique. The staff were very helpful throughout my stay and even made a local tea called ‘Te De Pimiento’ to help with my sickness which I was suffering from the day before I arrived at the hotel over in Lake Atitlan.

United StatesA bit pricey, but you’re paying for the location.
We had the standard room with a private bathroom which was comfortable and clean. The staff at Jungle Lodge were great at arranging us a round trip shuttle from Flores to the lodge and booking us for their sunrise and archeology tour (Jose was a great guide!!). They also had cold towels ready for us after the tour which was an excellent touch after a hot day outside. Despite reading the reviews on their food, we found our pasta dishes to be fine! They were basic, but hey—you’re in the jungle! If you are a light sleeper, you may want to bring earplugs. Otherwise, be prepared to listen to howler monkeys throughout the night!
