Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Pretty ok. Just note that it has 2 twin beds. The shower stall is quite tiny but manageable.
Excellent location - 2 mins walk from metro, 5 mins walk to Vatican museum . Great restaurants and shopping right down. Yet it was very quiet at night.

Quiet place just 10 minutes near Vatican and 2 minutes from Ottaviano metro station (15 minutes to railway). Everything was clean, the stuff is helpful and friendly. We were very satisfied, thank you.

The place where it’s located is perfect. It’neat Vatican city. building is old, preety, comfortable and staff is very nice.

Crossing the roads!!! The cars dont stop to let pedestrians cross the roads.
The guest house was situated very central to all the restaurants/shops/Vatican and not too far from all the places of interest, like the Trevi Fountain, the Colloseum, the Panthian and the Piazza Venezzia.

Guest house in the hart of Pratti. Very convenient location, short step for Vatican museum, metro station. Other famous locations on a walking distance. A lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Pleasant and helpful personal, clean and comfortable premises. Ideal place to stay for long weekends.

The accommodation comprises a series of rooms. Whilst the room was comfortable, it should be noted that this is not a ‘guest house’ per se that offers alternate guest ammenities.
Excellent location, clean and well-equipped room on Via Germanico close to the Vatican Museum, many restaurants, cafes etc as well as the Ottaviano Metro. The guest house is on the second floor of a larger apartment building; an elevator is available for guests to use. The room has a fully opening window and independently operated air conditioning.

Very friendly staff and excellent location. It's very easy to more around the city from the hotel by walking or taking the subway. The staff was very responsive and made sure our stay was pleasant as we expected.

Pillows are thin and WIFI is spotty sometimes.
Location is excellent. Nearest to Metro Line A. Two blocks away then you will be at the St. Peter's Square. Room is spacious, bed is comfortable. The entire place is clean.

The twin beds were tiny and extra firm also with the many restaurants near the hotel, during the night hours the room was a bit loud. The location was so ideal for us, the room was perfect.
The location was perfect and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. There were lots of restaurants, shops and places to buy delicious snacks within a short walk from the room. We only wished we had more time to visit the sites - 3 days was just not enough! We'd definitely stay here again.

We chose 2 single beds which were extremely uncomfortable for me to sleep on with a bad back so I put the mattress on the floor and it was better other than that, nothing!
Ottoviano was ideally located to visit many of the famous sights. Situated right near the Metro line which is east to navigate and only a stone’s throw from the Vatican.. there are many shops and restaurants in the area. There is a lift in the hotel which makes it easy if you have heavy luggage and they supply coffee facilities.

It was an amazing place. The host was very nice, helped us with everything we needed. It was super clean, they were cleaning it every day, chaning also the towels very often. The place is near Vatican (3 minutes walking) and near many markets and restaurants. We recommend staying here!

All was good.
We found the staff very helpful and friendly. I was very pleased that they offered to hold our bags on the last day while we traveled around the city and had a late flights. Very safe and in a good neighbourhood with lots of good affordable restaurants nearby.

Nothing - excellent value for money at the time of year we visited.
Fabulous location - 2 minute walk from metro (straight line from Termini) and short walk to St Peter's Basilica. Surrounded by restaurants and eateries. Felt incredibly safe in this neighbourhood, even when returning late. Reception is not 24 hrs, but will be available at your time of arrival. Incredibly friendly and made every effort to explain the functions of the room (e.g air conditioning etc). AC worked very well as did the other amenities. Extremely clean with a lovely large shower. Room itself is quite small, but for the location and the price, it was extrmely good value for money. Highly recommended for location, comfort, cleanliness and helpfulness of the owner.

The bathroom had a moldy ceiling and walls, however it wasn’t so bad we couldn’t stay.
Location was near the metro Line A which was very convenient for getting to major landmarks such as the Trevi Fountain and Roma Termini. It is a short walk to the vatican and a lovely gelateria called Old Bridge. It was a good stay for one night.

when we arrived, we got into the lift with our luggage, it wouldn’t work. Had to fight the doors to get out, and carry our bags up. Lift worked fine with one person. They couldn’t get their system to work with my visa credit card, and I had to get cash from the bank. Room a bit dated.
