Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Having 2 addresses with check-in and beakfast on one side of the building and our room on the other side, was a bit confusing at first, but by the end of our stay we had it figured out. Walking around the outside of the building to the other side to get breakfast was a little inconvenient, but it did get us dressed and out the door sooner. Was just different.
We liked being in reasonable walking distance (10 minutes to the Spanish Steps) to many of the more popular destinations, which saved us on taxi fares. We never felt unsafe walking back after dark.

There’s no 24/7 front desk event though it’s stated in the description. Breakfast quality is not good.

Got an issue with excessive cost of a taxi, we agreed when booking the taxi to take us from accommodation to Air Port Campiano that charge was 31 euros, however, the vehicle arrived was way too big for a couple with one small hand luggage only, and fee charged was 60 euros which we are enquiring about,
Good location for Castle De Angelo, room on Fifth Floor so using lift which was certainly vintage item

Breakfast area a little crowded, that said we sat on balcony last day. Little cold as out of season but fine... So not really an issue

Unfortunately, I didn't like the first room. A double bed for two adults and a child. I expected a sofa bed for my child. Staff soon rectified this and sorted us with a bigger room.
Great location and clean. Staff are amazing and very helpful and friendly. They really do go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.

The beds were a little rough and finding the hotel was difficult to find at first.
We loved the location as it was close to all major attractions (within walking distance). We also enjoyed the breakfast and kindness of the staff.

Our bathroom did not have a curtain, so that was a bit awkward, but it is all good! It is also a bit cold inside our room. I'm not sure how to turn the heating on? My mum didn't particularly like the bed and the duvet. They aren't soft / thick for her.
The staff were friendly and the location was good! We forgot to bring our travel adapter but one of the staff was kind enough to charge our phone for us when we first arrived and showed us where we can get one. You could walk everywhere, and it's so close to Vatican City, like 15 mins walk? Even though the hotel is on the 5th floor, there's a lift, so it's nice when you've got heavy luggage. They've got kettle inside the room. The breakfast was nice, too. They served basic breakfast, but it was sufficient imo. Croissants, toast, cereal, fruits, yoghurt, etc. There's a coffee machine too.

Sweet croissants on breakfast, pity, rather some without sugar. And polyester kind of duvet.
Service is very helpful and cheerful. Good coffee served on breakfast. Localisation the best.

The breakfast could be better but acceptable overall.
