Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

restaurant doesn’t open until later morning—be nice to have a coffee/tea/continental option. We went to starbucks in mark city every day for coffee (americans!) but would have been fine to do a breakfast in hotel if open earlier

The top-floor restaurant only offers fish and one member of our party is allergic, so we couldn’t visit. The ground-floor restaurant has poor opening hours, the food wasn’t great, service was awful but coffees are great.
Fabulous location, helpful staff, good rooms.

Family rooms do not have views of the crossing and they are only on the side of the hotel that has single or double rooms. Breakfast buffet is pretty standard with mostly basic options .
Location was right in the heart of Shibuya and the famous crossing. Very convenient as a lot of shopping and travel options due to its proximity to the station . Rooms were comfy and each floor had a coin operated laundy facility .

Ours was a compact corner room but very comfortable, with a great view of the scramble crossing, which was so entertaining. The Mark supermarkets downstairs were superb, and we enjoyed the one meal we had at the ‘coffee shop’ type restaurant on the lobby floor inside the complex. It was easy to get around with the station so available. However, finding the place on foot would be too challenging for us in our 70s, so if you can get a cab in, that’s the way to go. The staff were better than excellent.

Cost extra but the scramble view room was larger and had great views. One elevator also has great views of the scramble and you could go to the 25th floor and get nice views from there.

The bed was a little hard but that's just personal preference.
The drop off and pick up was simple and easy at the car entrance. We were nervous about how we would get car pick ups but that was simple. The room was perfect with seated views of the crossing and the location above the food market meant we had easy access to dining.

Nothing, all good... perhaps the price tag... haha.
Amazing location and very lovely stay. The breakfast spread was fantastic and you can even see Mount Fuji from the restaurant window.

Bathroom fitout is a bit dated and could be spruced up.

It was overpriced. They must really be capitalizing on the location because other than location I can’t explain the cost. Bathrooms need to be remodeled.
The location is fantastic. We had a great view fonthe scramble crossing from our room. Large rooms with comfortable beds and pillows.

The room, though spacious, was a bit too cramp to my liking especially the toilet. The entrance was a lil hard to spot but if you come from the shibuya station just keep going as if you were going to enter the super market then take a hard left you will see a neat hotel entrance with elevator hall.
The staff were eager to help, My family member who does not speak japanese have no trouble communicating with them at all. The room was spacious with excellent view of the Shibuya scramble cross walk and the hachiko statue. Very easy to get to the train station.

The carpet in the hallway of the floor we stayed on, smelled really musty when you got off the elevator, however, the room was fine
The location was unbeatable. It was extremely convenient and there was a limo bus from the hotel to Narita airport that was easy to book.

Communication in English with some staff was difficult. Unable to pin hotel lobby as pick up point on Uber as it is a restricted zone.
