What a magic place! It combines the welcoming warm feeling of a family farm with the stylish interior and exquisite food of a boutique hotel. It is indeed both. The hosts, Ulf and Usia welcome their guests in English, German, Afrikaans and Oshivambo. They do indeed run a small farm where they grow fruits and vegetables and also have farm animals. Some of that exquisite produce finds its way in the ingredients of the dinners and breakfasts they prepare for their guests. The home baked bread was fantastic, as well as all the other food. Great care was taken to offer local products, like a good dry red wine from a Namibian vineyard in the area. The rooms were tastefully decorated and spotless clean. It was a very good experience to stay there, and I am grateful to Ulf and Usia for making me feel at home in their lovely place!

Meteorite Rest Camp offers accommodations in Grootfontein, 13 miles from Old Fort Museum. Guests are welcome to go for a swim in the pool with a view.

We were so happy with our choice to stay at the Meteorite Rest Camp. The individual chalet (cabin) was homey and comfortable with lovely decorations and a fully equipped kitchen. We used the bbq with homemade sausage and kudu steaks bought at their farm shop that were delicious. Loved taking a walk with their super friendly dog. Lots of birds in lovely surroundings with a friendly host. Great value!

Pondoki Rest Camp is located 3.7 mi outside Grootfontein on the B8 route to Rundu. It offers an outdoor pool and a restaurant.

This property was absolutely one of our favourite stops in our trip around the country. It is so uniquely an artsy, rustic boutique place to stay. The staff Geraldine, Nico and others are phenomenal, so welcoming and friendly. Our meals were delicious, the rooms cozy and comfortable. All of the metalwork art, seating areas, etc made the place a delight. It was the perfect place to stop for the night before our morning visit out to the Ju/Hoasi-San Living Museum.

With mountain views, Ghaub Nature Reserve & Farm - ONE Namibia is located in Grootfontein and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, outdoor pool and terrace.

Staying at Ghaub was one of the best decisions we made in our Namibia trip. After a couple of busy days in Etosha, this was then PERFECT place to relax. It was our honeymoon and the staff made us feel special (gifts in our room, a lovely romantic dinner with candlelight, etc). Magical. The work they do for the rhinos is amazing too. We took it easy during our stay: hung out at the pool, did some hiking on their reserve (nothing special). Perhaps the highlight was the constant pressence of the warthogs and ground squirrels. When reading a book at the pool in the sun, it's so much fun to see 10 warthogs chilling in the grass 30 feet away from you. Ghaub was lovely. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

My overnight stay here far exceeded my expectations. I picked this primarily for the convenient location to break up the long drive from Caprivi to Windhoek. I expected a small home with a room or something similar. Instead I saw a lively center of activity. I was actually greeted at the entrance at the driveway entrance by name and welcomed. The rooms are very nice, and towards the back of the property to not be bothered by the activities. Felix was very engaging and invited me to sit out front if I wanted. He hosts a place for locals to come have some fun with a few simple things, and has a venue tent where a wedding was to occur. I was made a very nice dinner and chose to stay and engage in wonderful conversation until long after the local people had gone home. Felix is a person who cares about people, and it shows. In the morning he personally fixed a wonderful cooked breakfast. This was an absolutely wonderful stay, especially for the money spent. The room was clean and spacious, it was isolated enough from the out front activities that you would never know anything was going on if you didn't want to. If you need a place to stay near Grootfontein, you will be treated well at Bambi Lodge.
