Not very much. Thought they really went the extra mile, and made my visit comfortable and well worth it!

Breakfast was great, loved the owls nesting around the venue! Well located and wonderful hospitality. Certainly felt at home and comfortable being there. Can highly recommend them, and will be back again for a visit with my family for sure!

Luke warm shower on Saturday afternoon, cold shower Sunday morning, re-chargeable lights meant to work during load shedding, not working on Sunday morning so the room was very dark.

Tessa's proactive communication and friendly demeanour. The breakfast lady too! The room was clean and spacious.

The cottage was quite cold. We had a heater and the air con in the bedroom which made the bedroom warm but the lounge was cold. Perhaps another oil heater in the lounge would be helpful. A couple of extras in the kitchen would be useful such as a sharp knife, scissors, washing sponge and dishcloth.

The staff were lovely, friendly and hospitable. They responded quickly to any requests. The farm was quiet and peaceful which was what I went for. Our accommodation was upgraded to a cottage as they were quiet which was a nice touch. The dogs were very cute and friendly. I loved the fire in the central breakfast/lounge area which was close to our cottage.

The rooms were not what we expected from a 4 star rated establishment. The skirting had come off in the kitchen area. The rubber seal around the fridge was loose and coming off. The shower has no door so is quite cold in Winter. The beds did not have sufficient blankets. We could not find the adapter for the hairdryer to fit the plug socket. There was no vegetable peeler or chopping board in the kitchen. Generally a disappointing stay overall.

The Nespresso machine was appreciated. The host was very welcoming, friendly and hospitable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was very nice with a warm fire going and a pleasant area to dine and relax in. The restaurant unfortunately only operates part of the year.

Decor uncomfortable and basic - untiled bathroom, narrow concrete shelf behind bed instead of bedside tables. Apart from spoons, no utensils or water glasses (wine glasses only). Floor dirty - couldn’t walk barefoot from bed to bathroom without getting a black crust on feet. Asked cleaner to mop, no change. Morning shower unsatisfactory: day one was good, day two lukewarm, day three ice cold, reported it, day four back to lukewarm. Shower floor dangerously slippery (no tiles). Slow, unprotected WiFi.

Breakfast adequate (perhaps add some croissants or a few muffins?), staff friendly.

The walls of the room were not thick enough to keep out neighbours' noise, and birds/squirrels in/on the roof were also noisy at night and from 05h00 onwards. The room was clean enough, but bathroom window sills had dead flies and cobwebs, which weren't a problem, but this was our first of 13 homestays which wasn't spotlessly clean. The regular power outages were a nuisance, as the owners were still deliberating on whether to install solar panels or more generators; again, this was the only place we stayed which had no power at all during outages. Sorry, becasue i'm sure the reduced number of staff post-covid were working as hard as possible, and we hope that the place finds its former glory again soon.

Our room was in the converted stable block so was quite 'rustic' in feel, but nevertheless, comfortable, with lots of space and a choice of shower type. The communal area around the pool was also comfortable, with lots of space. There was plenty of parking available and the place felt secure.

I asked for a double bed, which unfortunately they couldn't provide. Parking was a bit squashed. I didn't know that they did volunteer fire-fighting. I do applaud them for it, but would have preferred if the trucks were parked somewhere else. It took away from the ambience I was looking for and what was "promised" on the photos.

Very friendly staff. Got exactly what I asked for.

A charming experience at a thoughtfully and well- managed estate. Excellent braais or dinners. Good breakfasts. A good place to relax or a base from which to sightsee.
