Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaTitle: Constructive Feedback for Enhanced Comfort While my stay at the hotel had many positives, there were a few areas that could be improved to elevate the experience further. Firstly, the absence of decaf coffee options was a minor inconvenience for someone who prefers it. It would be great to see this included in the room amenities in the future. Additionally, I noticed a mildly unpleasant smell in the room, which detracted slightly from the overall ambiance. Addressing this issue ( for example with lavender aromatic oil spray) would ensure a more pleasant stay for guests. As a woman, I found it challenging to do my hair without a dressing table. A simple solution could be to hang a mirror next to the plugs under the TV, allowing for more convenient styling. Furthermore, the towels provided were noticeably worn out and could benefit from being exchanged for fresher ones, enhancing the feeling of luxury and comfort. Overall, while these are areas for improvement, they are minor in comparison to the overall positive experience. With these adjustments, I believe the hotel could provide an even more satisfying stay for its guests.
From the moment we stepped into this hotel, I knew I was in for a treat. The facilities were top-notch, with the heated pool being a delightful escape from the outside world. The staff, both at the hotel and Spa, were incredibly friendly and accommodating, adding a personal touch to my stay. Our room exceeded expectations with its spacious layout and a bed very comfortable. The quiet air conditioner ensured uninterrupted sleep. One of the highlights was the Nespresso coffee provided in the room, a small touch that made morning feel indulgent. And let's not forget the breakfast – delicious and abundant, it set the perfect tone for the day ahead. The massage at the Spa was truly amazing, melting away any tension and leaving us feeling utterly rejuvenated. In summary, this hotel offers a haven of relaxation and luxury. From the inviting pool to the impeccable service, every aspect of my stay was exceptional. I can't recommend it enough for anyone seeking a memorable and revitalizing getaway.

South AfricaMajeka house never disappoints. From the lovely warm indoor pool and spa, to the most delicious breakfast and lunch. The attention to detail is beautiful. Like The stunning ceiling murals in the bedrooms…every room we stayed in was exquisite. And of course the friendly welcoming staff…. Always feels like heaven coming back. South AfricaThe property requires refurbishment as it appears tired. The carpets in the room are in need of cleaning. Although there was a double shower in the room, only one shower head worked at a time due to water pressure issues. Additionally, the pillows on the bed were very old, although the linen was satisfactory. Overall, the value for money was lacking, and I would not recommend this property

South AfricaWe had a terrible experience. Walked into our room and found about 40 mosquitos on the walls ceiling and flying around. Absolutely unlivable conditions. We went to complain and the receptionist took me to another room which smelled of moth balls, we opted for this one over the mosquito infested one. Breakfast the next morning was cold, while we dined next to two dead cockroaches on the floor. NOT good enough for a five star establishment! We cancelled our spa we had booked for fear of what could happen next and went elsewhere. It was my husbands birthday and i was most disappointed with our stay which was meant to be relaxing and luxurious. It was the opposite! Hotel needs full maintenance down to chipping internal cupboards, moisture damage everywhere.
The property was aesthetically lovely but very run down. Damp everywhere.

United KingdomThe only thing that was broken was the Jacuzzi and steam room but we used the sauna and were out most days so not a problem
We loved the decor, we had a beautiful room with access to two pools. The room was beautifully decorated. The food fab and the staff were so friendly and attentive and helped us with any enquiries for places to visit. It’s set right in the middle of the vineyards. It had a spa and hairdressers on site which we used. We had lovely massages.

United States of AmericaThe rooms were absolutely vile. The cleaning is severely lacking at this hotel and they need to focus on getting a good cleaning team. We checked into our room to find hair and dust balls all over the floor. The white trim of the rugs are brown they are so dirty and gross. Hair scattered on the bathroom countertops and floors. Bathtub not drained. And to top it off we found toenail cuttings from the previous guest still on the nightstand (photos attached). We let management know, who said they would send the cleaners to the room to take care of it, and we returned to the room later to just find the toenail clippings scattered around the room (photo also attached). Meaning they did not even clean them up, they probably just brushed them off. This hotel is way too expensive to have this poor of cleaning - had I not pre-paid for this months ago, I would have left the second we arrived to the room. I would not advise anyone to stay here until they do a full makeover and get a new cleaning staff.
The hotel has potential to be beautiful with regular upkeep, but that isn't happening. It seems like the bare minimum is being done to get by. I would never ever stay here again - the rooms were disgusting.

South AfricaAlmost all the amenities were either dirty, not working, or only half-way working. The biggest disappointment was the cold "heated pool" and dirty jacuzzi. We then wanted to have a coffee at the fireplace, only to hear they couldn't make any coffee while there was a power outage. Shouldn't a facility of this price range have backup options on-site? The second choice was to drink a liqueur at the bar, only to hear they only had half of the options in stock. Our bed didn't have a fitted sheet (gross) and the room just felt wearned out. The Nespresso coffee machine didn't work properly because the pods provided were not compatible.
Big breakfast selection. Well located in Stellenbosch. Big room with seating area and semi-private pool.

South AfricaNone of the amenities/facilities could be used. The "heated" pool was cold, the jacuzzi was dirty, the outside seating was wet and not wiped down, the steam room was out of order, coffee facilities in rooms only make use of pods, but the pods provided are not compatible with the machine and not working properly. Our bed didn't have a fitted sheet on. The shower was dirty. The bar didn't have half of the stock that was presented on the menu. The restaurant didn't have the "soup of the day" nor the pudding that we wanted to order. There are apparently inverters in the rooms, but it was not working during power outages.
Breakfast was nice. Well located with pretty Stellenbosch mountain views.

South AfricaI heard great things about this property and sss excited to stay here for the first time when having to overnight in Stellenbosch. Extremely unfriendly staff. Check in felt like the receptionist was doing me a favor. No one in this hotel, not even the security guards standing around offers you any assistance with your luggage. I was told the bar closes at 23:00. When I arrived back from dinner at 22:30 the bar was locked up and shut. No chance of a night cap. Why promote facilities and then change times? If I knew they were closed I would have had a drink in town at one of the many establishments that want my money. The rooms are tired. Extremely slippery wooden base in the shower and moldy. Then when someone walked into my room casually in the morning without knocking or warning was quite an unpleasant surprise. I shouted to the door and someone mumbled something resembling an apology. No double lock option on the room doors. So the staff can come in when they feel like it. No privacy signs. A stupid little button you press on the door that clearly does not work or the staff member would not have entered my room. Check out again no assistance with luggage. The manager (I assume) sitting in an office behind the front desk and shouting good morning from behind his desk. Not a guest focused team at all. I will not be returning.
Beautiful location.
