The stay is not expensive at all if we consider all the services they provide. If you are planning to stay a night in kurokawa onsen i would really recommend this ryokan, authentic and traditional experience. The staff is very kind and always ready to help, they even took me to the bus station the day after! The dinner and breakfast experience are a must! It also features a lounge with complimentary coffee and WiFi, a terrace and a garden. Free parking is available. Wow, what an excellent place. It felt very special as soon as we walked in to the gates. The staff, room, onsen, and restaurant were all wonderful. We particularly liked the combination of public and private onsen and also the great bath that we had in the room. Despite our lack of Japanese we were made to feel very welcome and everything was well explained to us.

The staff are attentive and friendly, there’s a nice bar on the main floor, and it’s well situated in kurokawa onsen—close to the other ryokan onsens but not in the middle of the foot traffic. Compare to other ryokans, the group onsen is not as hot. However, guests of the ryokan may reserve a private bath at no charge, and the space was great with hot and good water. The food was great, and served in the room. Given the options for private baths, this ryokan is great for families.
