The service is awesome! All the staff, from the reception to the dining room, are extremely helpful and friendly. The room is spacious for even five people. Their onsens are well maintained and beautiful. Dinner and breakfast Kaiseki are beyond my expectations.

Located in the heart of the city, Hotel Nikko Kumamoto features accommodations with free wired internet access and views of Kumamoto Castle. Great breakfast. Nice room with nice Kumamoto castle view. Good location.

Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. The okyakuya ryokan’s history is amazing. I learned a lot.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. The staff were extremely helpful and were able to communicate with me effectively. The different in house onsens were well maintained and offered good experiences. The room was very comfortable, clean and well maintained and offered a great coffee. The property although not large had many pockets of places one could enjoy a peaceful environment. The meals were of a high quality making the dining experience extremely enjoyable. Attention to detail was amazing (see the sesame seeds!) making the meal a feast for the eyes before the tasty feast. Breakfast was also hearty and tasty.

The staff are very professional and organized. I really appreciate that they took my special requests seriously. The service is superb. The place is so beautiful, spacious and clean. The food is great.

Very comfy ryokan with very attentive staffs. Rooms are large, clean and the beds are comfortable. Food, both breakfast and dinner, were great. Truly enjoy our stay. Recommended.

Boasting individual Japanese-style houses and maisonettes with a private open-air hot spring bath, Ryokan Kono-Yu is nestled in lush greenery in the peaceful Kurokawa hot spring area. We were blown away by this wonderful accommodation and staff. The team who looked after us were the warmest, most helpful people and the ryokan itself was simply stunning. Having our own private Onsen was amazing and the tatami room was very stylish . Dinner and breakfast were delicious too - we can’t wait to stay again in the future.

Kumamoto Hotel Castle is a 7-minute walk from the famous Kumamoto Castle. It features 4 restaurants and modern guest rooms with free WiFi. The hotel has a great view of the castle but the higher floors are better. It is also in a good spot for shopping and has a tram stop nearby to go to the train station. The rooms are big for Japan and well appointed. The hotel is oldschool in the best sense. The breakfast is a set menu (western or Japanese with regional touches) and they have excellent coffee Staff is very friendly and helpful
