The staff were extremely helpful and were able to communicate with me effectively. The different in house onsens were well maintained and offered good experiences. The room was very comfortable, clean and well maintained and offered a great coffee. The property although not large had many pockets of places one could enjoy a peaceful environment. The meals were of a high quality making the dining experience extremely enjoyable. Attention to detail was amazing (see the sesame seeds!) making the meal a feast for the eyes before the tasty feast. Breakfast was also hearty and tasty.

The room was traditional Japanese style, peaceful, spacious and beautifully maintained. The private onsen was a truly relaxing experience, offering serene moments of calm and privacy. We also tried the public onsen facilities, which were just as wonderful, with a tranquil atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings. The absolute highlight of our stay was the food. Both dinner and breakfast were traditional Japanese meals, and every dish was outstanding, beautifully presented and full of flavor. You could tell each element was prepared with care and passion. If you're looking for an authentic and unforgettable Japanese ryokan experience, I can't recommend this place enough.

Boasting individual Japanese-style houses and maisonettes with a private open-air hot spring bath, Ryokan Kono-Yu is nestled in lush greenery in the peaceful Kurokawa hot spring area. We were blown away by this wonderful accommodation and staff. The team who looked after us were the warmest, most helpful people and the ryokan itself was simply stunning. Having our own private Onsen was amazing and the tatami room was very stylish . Dinner and breakfast were delicious too - we can’t wait to stay again in the future.
