Finding Hale Hualalai for our last two days on the big island was a stroke of luck. The facility is tucked away off a mountain road surrounded by coffee plantations and endowed with a panoramic view. It was a distinct pleasure to have conversations with Ricky, who is an excellent host and cook. We particularly enjoyed eating his delicious breakfasts while gazing out at the beautiful view and watching the hilarious antics of the geckos. Ricky is also a great source of information about the island and Hawaii in general. The location is great for coffee tasting. (Be careful about getting over caffeinated and driving on the winding mountain roads!). We initially chose to stay at Hale Hualalai because of proximity to the airport, which is only 15 minutes away by car.

Hale-Hoola B & B is located in Captain Cook. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with a patio and a seating area. Breakfast was great! Patio with awesome view. Felt like paradise. Great location, but it is important that you have a car. We really enjoyed our stay!

Road to Hana waterfalls, Charles Lindbergh's grave and the oceanfront Seven Sacred Pools are within 20 minutes' drive of this novel Hana studio on Maui. Free WiFi and Roku TV are provided. This was a little gem. I'm so glad my daughter recommended this place. It sits right outside the town of Hana, a perfect location. It was larger than expected, and more private.
