Honestly, I expected discrimination since the hotel was quite far from tourist attractions. Unsurprisingly, there were only Japanese guests as far as we could tell. However, the receptionists were all extremely helpful, professional, and friendly above all. I am from Taiwan and can only speak broken Japanese, yet they didn't treat me differently at all during my stay: unlike some of the restaurant and hotel staff members I had unfortunately encountered elsewhere despite trying not to speak English. Here's the icing on the cake. My wife accidentally forgot a personal item that her late father had left her, because I got the checkout time wrong and had to leave in a hurry. I immediately contacted the hotel, but we were already in a different city far from Gifu. They offered to send the item to our next destination free of charge even though I insisted on paying. I must say the staff was far more professional than some of the staffs of a few expensive, traditional onsen ryokan places we stayed in. Thank you, Hotel Route Inn Ginan Kokudo 21! 誠にありがとうございました！

Family mart 24/7 and drug store about 200m from the hotel, another food supermarket max 10 min walk, about 8min walk to the beautiful beach.

Fantastic location right next to the train station. We used this hotel as a base for mainly visiting the snow monkey park and it was excellent. Room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view out to the mountains. Great TV, bathroom and amenities within the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We also really enjoyed the hotel restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Everything was perfect, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities were excellent. They offered a wide range of complementary items, including shampoo, facial and hair care products, and there was free access to the onsen, which was really appreciated. The breakfast was incredible, with a huge variety of options. I was truly impressed!
