Amritsar is a pilgrimage city. If you like to visit the Golden Temple, then you have to come here. Most of the transactions are carried out in cash. So pls carry good amount in cash. UPI and cards are used less. Pls visit only in the winter months. The summer months are too hot.

Amritsar is one of the friendliest cities I have visited in India. The Golden Temple is equal to the Taj Mahal in beauty and an oasis of calm and peace. We also found the people here to be so friendly and welcoming. And don’t forget to buy some jutti’s (Indian slippers). There are shops lining the street to the Golden temple.
